Call to Order at 7:02

Quorum Present

Michelle Pickard – IVE Principal

· PBSES refresher presentation

· School-wide “Building Community” theme

· SEL Curriculum Coffee chat 9/27 @ 9:10am with Principal and Counselor

· School Improvement Plan

3rd year of a three-year goal, focus on math, continuing with Eureka curriculum

Renee Barnes / Brie Nyberg – IVE PTA Co-Presidents:

· Mission and Goals – No changes from last year

Motion made to approve Mission & Goals by Christine White, seconded Alison Maker. Hearing no discussion, all ayes, no nays and no abstentions. The ayes have it. Motion passes.

· Standing Rules – No changes from last year.

o Recommendation made to add “and staff” to #9

Motion made to approve Standing Rules as modified by Jeff Jarrard, seconded by Christine White. Hearing no additional discussion, all ayes, no nays and no abstentions. The ayes have it. Motion passes

· VP Communications, Ligaya Petersen, stepped down. Marcelle Waldman nominated.

Hearing no requests to read bylaws, voting commenced

Motion made to nominate Marcelle Waldman for position of VP Communications by Lauren Schaer. No other nominations were made from the floor. Hearing no discussion, all ayes, no nays and no abstentions. The ayes have it. Motion passes.

Brooke Sullivan / Christine White – Co-Treasurers:

· 2017-2018 Budget Review

o Allocation adjustments based on staffing count. Attachment C identifies changes.

o New Line Items proposed:

o Watch DOGS - $400.

Brie presented information on the program.

Motion made to approve adding a budget line item for Watch D.O.G.S. in the amount of $400 by Alison Maker. Hearing no discussion, all ayes, no nays and no abstentions. The ayes have it. Motion passes.

o Internet Subscriptions - $3541.

Renee provided information about RazzKids and Brainpop programs which would be funded.

Motion made to approve adding a budget line item for Internet Subscriptions in the amount of $3541 by Alison Maker, seconded by Patty Dillon.

Discussion was held around whether PTA should be funding classroom subscriptions or if the costs should be pushed to the district. School technology budget cannot cover subscriptions and purchase updated technology.

Hearing no additional discussion, the vote was held. 30 ayes, 3 nays and 3 abstentions. The ayes have it. Motion passes.

Lauren Schaer / Lindsay Conger – Co-Secretary:

· May Minutes review

Motion made to approve May Minutes as written by Christine White, seconded by Patty. Hearing no discussion, all ayes, no nays and no abstentions. The ayes have it. Motion passes.

Jen Naehr – Membership:

· 59% currently – 623 students currently enrolled. Need every student represented by adult PTA member. Membership drive until end of October.

Community Outreach

· Growing Great Gardeners: Miriam has co-chairs

Renee Barnes – Salmon Days Parking

· No chair received for this fundraising event. Partnering with IMS, need volunteers.

Jane Brammer – IVE Kindergarten Teacher

· Introduced staff present, thanked PTA for support.
