Job Title Marketing Manager: Youth Programme

Responsible to Head of Marketing

Internal liaison All departments, but particularly Youth Strategy,

Programming, Studios team and Development

External liaison Design, marketing and PR agencies; young people;

education, community and creative industry partners

Salary £28,000 pa

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

Develop and implement marketing strategy and individual campaigns to successfully promote

the Roundhouse’s youth programme to participants, audiences and stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing

·  Develop marketing strategy, with the Head of Marketing and Head of Youth Strategy,

to promote the youth programme to young people, audiences and stakeholders (including

funders, education/community partners and government).

·  Create and implement individual campaigns to ensure projects are fully subscribed with

targeted participants.

·  Evaluate and report on campaigns and progress of overall strategy.

·  Manage the design, production and distribution of print and online marketing materials.

·  Develop and maintain a network of contacts with education/community partners and

stakeholders, and maximise those relationships.

·  Promote the ‘Emerging Artist’ scheme to successfully build membership; and work closely

with the Studios Assistants on its administration.

·  Make best use of social networking opportunities.

·  Ensure information about the youth programme is up-to-date and accurate on the

Roundhouse website.

·  Ensure marketing activity for the youth programme is planned in conjunction with other

Roundhouse marketing campaigns, and opportunities for cross-promotion are maximised.

·  Involve young people in the planning, creation and delivery of campaigns.

·  Develop and maintain a network of contacts with marketing agencies, partners and suppliers.

PR

·  Commission and manage external PR agencies as required.

·  Write and issue press releases and press information as required.

·  Ensure listings are accurate and timely.

General

·  Act as the main point of contact for all youth programme marketing and PR activities.

·  Manage the youth programme marketing budget.

·  Attend, and lead where appropriate, internal meetings to ensure effective two-way

communication of information and planning.

·  Liaise with other departments (eg development, youth strategy) to ensure statutory obligations

are met and cross-promotion maximised.

·  Keep up-to-date with developments and best-practice in the youth marketing sector.

·  Attend events and meetings relevant to your work, some of which may take place outside of

regular office hours.

·  Work as part of the marketing team and carry out work as reasonably requested by the Head

of Marketing.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

·  A track record of creating and implementing successful youth-focused marketing campaigns

via traditional and non-traditional routes, to ensure a diverse range of participants and

new audiences

·  At least three years’ experience of working with 11 to 25 year olds

·  At least three years’ experience of managing marketing campaigns

·  Network of contacts in the education and community sector

·  Budget management experience

·  Excellent project management skills

·  Able to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally

·  Excellent copywriting/editing skills

·  Experience of briefing print and online projects to designers

·  E-marketing experience

·  Experience of working on PR campaigns

·  Able to work with a high degree of accuracy

Desirable

·  Experience of working at an arts venue

·  Experience of managing PR campaigns

·  Experience of membership schemes

·  Data analysis skills

CONDITIONS

Hours 40 hours per week

Annual Leave The annual leave period runs from 1 April to 31 March and you will be entitled to 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
