Installing FLI downloader Utility Software

  1. Installing FLI downloader Utility

·  Place PSA66 utility CD into CD drive. On desktop, Select My Computer. Open CD drive (usually D: drive), open “FLI_downloader V200009” folder, double click on “Install FLI Download V200009.exe”. This will start the install utility, Follow instructuions to complete installation.

  1. Copying Firmware files to FLI downloader file folder

·  Place CD with Firmware files (i.e. 2RS24000) in CD drive. Highlight firmware files (.vfx and .slf files), Right Click and select copy. Open “My computer”, Double click on Local Disk (C: ), Double click on “Program Files”, Right click on “FLI downloader”, select paste. This will copy firmware files to the “FLI downloader” file folder. Open FLI downloader file folder to verify they were copied. This would be a good time to create an icon for the utility on the desktop. Right click on the “FLI Downloader V200009.exe”file, select “Send To “, select “Desktop (create shortcut)”.

*NOTE: Windows will sometimes give files copied from a CD a “Read Only” attribute. To check this. Right click on the .vfx, select “Properties” and verify that the “Read Only” box is NOT checked. Do the same thing with the .slf file.*

3.  Using the FLI downloader

·  Double click on “FLI Downloader” icon to start utility. Click on “Preferences” and a dialogue box will appear. Here you will need to select the comm. ports you wish to use. (you only need to apply comm ports when initially setting up preferences) To do this, highlight the comm. ports you wish to use (If using the multi-port downloader hold down the “Ctrl” button while selecting multiple ports) then click the “Apply” button. Next, select firmware to be downloaded. To do this, click on the select firmware button. This will open up a window containing FLI firmware, highlight the firmware you wish to use then click OK. To finish the selection process click on the “Back to Prior” button located in the upper left hand corner of the Preferences window. This will close the “Preferences” window and you are now ready to download firmware.

·  Note: Remember, in order to complete a firmware download the printer must have paper loaded, printer completely pocketed in the stationary unit, with the print head release lever in the up position.
