IGEL Technology Expands Unified Communications Capabilities with Support for Citrix HDX RealTime Media Engine 2.0
Available now on all IGEL Linux Version 5.0 Universal Desktop thin clients and IZ HDX zero clients, new real-time communications capabilities include high-definition audio and video conferencing via Skype® for Business
New York, March 21, 2016 – IGEL Technology, a world leader in the development of powerful workspace management software, software-defined thin clients, and thin and zero client solutions, today announced that support for Citrix HDX RealTime Media Engine (RTME) 2.0 is now available on all IGEL Linux V5 Universal Desktop (UD) thin clients and IZ HDX zero clients.

First introduced by Citrix in December 2015, the HDX RTME 2.0 is a plug-in to Citrix Receiver that supports high-definition audio and video calls, and integrates with Microsoft Skype® for Business (Formerly Microsoft Lync). With this latest release of the RTME, Citrix has also decoupled its functionality from the backend solution in order to provide support for Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015, Microsoft Lync Server 2013 and Office 365 (Skype for Business Online).
Availability and Support
The Citrix HDX RTME 2.0 is available now for all IGEL Linux Version 5.0 Universal Desktop (UD) thin clients and IGEL IZ HDX zero clients, and can be immediately downloaded via www.myigel.biz with the IGEL Linux firmware 5.09.11. Due to the flexibility of the IGEL Linux platform, the Citrix HDX RTME 2.0 can be quickly integrated within the enterprise, and offers a number of benefits for IT organizations including ease of management via the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) software.
