Ham Technician License Class October 14 and 21, 2017

Ham Technician License Class October 14 and 21, 2017

We are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Ham license class. Our goal is to help everyone who wants to become a Ham. The two day class will be held on Saturdays October 14 and 21. A license test held at the end of the second Saturday. The class agenda can be found on our web site at http://vsummits.com/w6ha

The class uses multimedia and hands on demonstrations illustrating the components and equipment. During breaks you will have a chance to try the Ham radios.

The class will cover what you need to know to earn your Technician Level license: math, electrical, rules, radio operation, antennas, and safety. Both days will start at 8AM and end at 5PM.

Class Logistics

Cost: The class is Free, however, the license test is $15

Location: Manhattan Beach Public Works Yard located at 3621 Bell Ave, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 There is plenty of free parking. Please park in the north lot and not in the National Guard lot which is to the south. Come through the chain link fence to the building on the right. We will be in the training room.

Lunch: Bring your own sack lunch and snacks for the day. We will have breaks, but not enough time to go out for lunch.

Preparation: We strongly suggest getting the ARRL Technician License Manual Edition 3 and read it before the class. This covers all test questions. If you have the Gordon West book, that is fine too. The class is organized around the ARRL book.

ARRL book: ISBN: 978-1-62595-013-0 (Amazon is a good source.)

If you have any questions, please let me know. I and the other instructors are looking forward to seeing you there and having a great class.
