Project Description: The project will replace the existing bridge on N Meyers Rd between Zillah and Toppenish where the road crosses the Yakima River. The new bridge is approximately 42’ wide by 620’ long, consisting of 83” deep bulb-tee girders on 10’ drilled shafts.

Major Elements:

·  Traffic control and temporary erosion control measures

·  Construction surveying and staking

·  Earthwork including placement of riprap

·  Removal of paving, existing bridge, trees, and other structures and obstructions

·  Construction of crushed aggregate base and hot-mixed asphalt concrete

·  Construction of structural earth wire wall (Hilfiker or Tensar type)

·  Seeding and Fertilizing

·  Installation of storm sewer and culvert pipe and adjusting inlets and manholes

·  Construction of precast, prestressed, concrete girder bridge

Kiewit is seeking quotes from Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE’s) as certified by the Washington State OMWBE program. The Contracting Agency has established a Condition of Award Contract Goal of 8% DBE Subcontractor participation.

In order to assist certified small business subcontractors and suppliers, we will divide scopes of work into economically feasible units, and will assist firms with meeting delivery schedules, providing points of contact regarding bonding, lines of credit, and insurance; and giving information so that Small Business can secure their own sources of equipment in order to maximize Small & Disadvantaged Business participation. Kiewit requires Subcontractor Performance & Payment Bonds; Material Supply Bonds; and use of our standard Subcontract forms.
