Axcell 650 Catamaran Sport Yacht to Highlight New Boats Premiering In Miami

January 24, 2011, Cookeville, TN – The innovative new AXCELL 650 Catamaran Sport Yacht makes its Miami premier during the Yacht & Brokerage Show February 17 - 21, 2011 at Slip #411 on Collins Avenue.

Launched by MACS Research, Inc., this exciting 65’ cat is the first of its kind, sporting a wealth of design innovation, most notably the internationally patented, proprietary HybridAir™ Technology developed over an extensive 13-year development period. The hull design is engineered to utilize a Hovercraft lift fan to pump air pressure into the twin catamaran’s air-cushioned cavities, effectively lifting and lubricating the hull. The reduction in friction allows the hull to transition smoothly from displacement mode to high performance planing, ultimately delivering an unprecedented soft and comfortable ride, speed, outstanding fuel efficiency, plus superb handling and performance.

“We believe the AXCELL 650 sets an extraordinary new standard and benchmark in the global marine marketplace,” said MACS Research founder and president Bruce Barsumian. “Our goal from the outset was to design the ultimate 65’ cruising yacht that combines the best in engineering, design, performance, styling and comfort. We’re very excited to bring this long-awaited new yacht to market.”

Besides its radical, technologically advanced hull design, the AXCELL 650 features exceptionally clean, Euro-style cruiser lines unique to a catamaran, brilliantly executed by award-winning mega yacht designer J.C. Espinosa of Espinosa, Inc. Every inch of space has been detailed and maximized to produce a high level of motor yacht-level luxury featuring a rich blend of woods, leathers, fabrics and textiles.
