This past year, we have taken a look at the many trends that have transpired throughout the ancient world. We have navigated through how the hominids explored Northern Africa all the way to how the Romans created one of the largest Empires to date. In your final essay of 6th grade, I want you to choose one major trend that has evolved and transformed throughout ancient history. Some examples of major trends could include religion, politics/government, education, entertainment, medicine, etc…This will be due Tuesday, June 14 at the beginning of class! I will only accept a printed final copy unless you have made previous arrangements with me.

Use the outline below as a guide:

An opening paragraph (3-5 meaningful sentences)

o  Interesting opener

o  A thesis stating your trend

Body Paragraphs 1, 2, & 3 (3-5 meaningful sentences)

o  Opening/closing sentences

o  Description of evolution

o  Examples from the text or other primary sources

TIPS!

-  Avoid using “I”, “we”, “you”, “us”

-  Restate who you are talking about with EACH new paragraph. For instance, if in paragraph one you are discussing the Egyptians and paragraph two you are describing religion in China, make sure that you are clear!

-  Check your GRAMMAR (punctuation, spelling, sources)

-  I will only read rough drafts up to Saturday (6/11) – You will have a response from me by Sunday
