Fortheexhibition „FAVORITES II – forsale,“ wehavechosenworksfromthepastfewdecadesfromartistsanddesignersconsideredimportantprotagonistsoftheir time, aswellas, up-and-comingpositionsdevelopedbased upon thehertiageofarthistory.

This excitingjuxtapositionsimultaneouslyunderlinesthechallengethatbothgallerists, throughtheircontinuousscrutinizationandinteractionwithartand design, undertook.

Highlight oftheexhibition FAVORITES II

Duringtheexaminationofartfromthe 60ies, including ZERO, thegallerycameacross a spectacular find thatwewouldliketopresentattheSeasonOpening.

WhiledissolvingOtto Piene's Studio in Düsseldorf, hiswidowfound "Supergouachen" - or so Pienecalledtheworks. The workshadbeenforgottenfor 40 years. A taperecordingfrom an interview withPieneproveswithout a doubtthattheseworkswerecreatedfromthemiddleofthe 70ies tothe 80ies. Certificatesfrom Elizabeth Goldring Pieneconfirmtheauthenticityoftheworks. Oneofthefoursworksissignedandtitled. Often, Pienewouldonlysign a work after it was sold, a typicalpracticeatthe time.
