25% of the raffle proceeds will benefit the Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club’s Scholarship Fund. For over 20 years, the Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club has given small college scholarships every year to local high school graduates who exhibit both financial need and academic merit. The scholarships are $2,500 each. Three to four scholarships are awarded each year to graduating seniors from Ramsey, Mahwah, Allendale, Saddle River and Upper Saddle River. Over 20 students are recommended by their schools or apply on their own each year; Rotary interviews the candidates and makes its awards based on combined criteria of financial need and academic merit.
25% of the raffle proceeds will benefit other charitable activities of the Rotary Club.
Recent programs have included:
Ø Financial support for Rotary’s Gift of Life program through which children from Third World countries with congenital heart defects come to the United States for surgery which is performed by volunteer doctors. Local residents donate housing for mother and child before/after surgery and provide transport back and forth to the hospital.
Ø Ongoing support of Center For Food Action’s efforts to distribute food to those temporarily in need (funds, food and manpower).
Ø Substantial support of multi-year effort to find a site and construct a new food distribution center in the Mahwah area for the Center For Food Action (funds and professional services). Project completed late 2009.
Ø Financial support of 5 to 7 high school juniors to attend the annual multi-day Rotary Youth Leadership Conference held at a residential conference center.
Ø Financial and manpower support of annual distribution of personal dictionaries to 3rd graders in all local schools.
Ø Financial and manpower support of semiannual blood drive conducted by the Ramsey Blood Donors Association for Bergen Community Blood Center.
Ø Financial support of hurricane, earthquake relief, School completion project and privy project for the poor in Nicaragua.
Ø Financial support and/or manpower support of numerous other local charitable needs including Christmas gifts for needy children, Eagle Scout projects, etc.

You are invited to subscribe for a Raffle Ticket
in the 50/50 Cash Raffle sponsored by Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary.
The drawing is June 14th at 1 P.M.
Tickets are $100 each.
Only six hundred tickets will be sold.
The winners will receive 50% of the ticket proceeds – first prize is 45% and second prize is 5%; that’s up to $27,000 for first prize!
Each participant's odds of winning are dramatically better than in any State lottery, casino games, etc.
If less than all 600 tickets are sold, the prize money will be lower than $27,000 but your odds of winning increase!

The drawing will be on June 14, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Rotary Club's meeting at Houlihan’s on Route 17 North in Ramsey. Winners need not be present. This form must be received by Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary prior to that time and prior to all 600 tickets being sold. First come first served.
