‘MOONLIGHT & MISTLETOE’ CAST BIOS TOM ARNOLD (Nick) – As a writer, producer, and actor, Tom Arnold has established himself to both television and film audiences worldwide, having won such awards as the Peabody Award for writing, and a Golden Globe Award for writing and producing. Additionally, he helped put Fox Sports Network on the map with his hosting duties on “Best Damn Sports Show Period.” Arnold cornered the market on playing the resident comic relief in films like “Nine Months” with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, and Robin Williams, James Cameron’s “True Lies” with Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Hero” with Dustin Hoffman, and “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” with Mike Myers. Arnold has successfully broken out of the comedic stereotype and is ironically becoming a fixture at film festivals by landing more mature and dramatic roles. He appeared in three films at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival: “The Great Buck Howard” starring John Malkovich and Tom Hanks, “Good Dick” opposite Jason Ritter, and “The Year of Getting to Know Us” opposite Sharon Stone, Jimmy Fallon and Lucy Liu. Tom was also seen at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival in “Gardens of the Night,” opposite John Malkovich. In 2005, he received critical praise for his role in Don Roos’ “Happy Endings” for Lions Gate Films (which premiered at Sundance), starring opposite Maggie Gyllenhaal and Lisa Kudrow. He was also seen in “Pride” opposite Terrance Howard, and “Animal Factory,” directed by Steve Buscemi, another role for which Tom received great critical notice. Arnold began his career in comedy at the University of Iowa before moving to Minneapolis, where he won the Minneapolis Comedy Competition in 1988. He then moved to Los Angeles to write on the highly successful television series, “Roseanne,” before eventually serving as executive producer for the sitcom. He went on to star in three installments of his own HBO special entitled “Tom Arnold: The Naked Truth,” and then wrote, produced and starred in three of his own television series “The Jackie Thomas Show,” “Tom” and “The Tom Show.” Other film credits include “Soul Plane,” “Cradle to the Grave,” and “Exit Wounds.” Arnold also starred in “The Kid & I,” an action comedy he wrote for a 16-year-old family friend with cerebral palsy. The film was directed by Penelope Spheeris, with cameos by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Linda Hamilton. Born in Iowa, he has established a writing scholarship and runs an acting workshop for students at the Indian Hills Community College in Iowa. Tanner. Still running in over 100 countries in syndication, she will forever be part of TV history through Nick At Nite and ABC Family network lineups. With an acting career that started at the age of five, Bure appeared in several national television commercials and prime-time hits such as “St. Elsewhere,” “Growing Pains” and “Who’s the Boss.” She also earned a string of lead roles in television movies, including the critically acclaimed portrayal of an abused teenager in “No One Would Tell.” Her feature film credits stand up to the light of her television success with appearances in such films as “Punchline” with Tom Hanks and Sally Field. Bure entered another genre of pop culture when she was cast in John Hughes’ “Some Kind of Wonderful” and the Cohen Brothers’ film “Monster Mash.” After marrying NHL star Valeri Bure, she put her career on ice for a while in order to stay home and raise a full house of her own. She has been happily married for over eleven years and is the proud mother of three kids. Throughout her career, Bure has produced several projects including “The Krew.” She is currently working on developing new production projects with Redrock Entertainment Development and is acting in select projects. Most recently, Bure has appeared in an episode of Disney’s “That’s So Raven,” starred opposite Randy Travis in the PureFlix film “The Wager,” and fulfilled the duties as a guest host on ABC’s daytime hit show “The View.” Candace is also in the process of putting the finishing touches on her very own clothing line, due out in 2008. Her philanthropic spirit has given support to the Sheraton House, Compassion International, Children’s Hunger Fund, Make-A-Wish and the Starlight Foundation. She also continues to travel the country speaking at various churches, colleges and outreach events, as well as being a contributing columnist for Christian Women Online Magazine. ### (more) HALLMARK CHANNEL/ ‘MOONLIGHT & MISTLETOE’ – Cast Bios – Page 3 CHRISTOPHER WIEHL (Peter) - Christopher Wiehl graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in dramatic arts, and is most known for his lead roles in ESPN’s series “Playmakers,” CBS’ “First Monday,” TNT’s original series “Bull” and CBS’ “Love Monkey.” He was a recurring character on “CSI” and “Clubhouse.” His guest-star credits include shows such as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “ER,” “Las Vegas,” “Monk” and “Surface.” Some of his feature credits are “Hollywood Homicide,” starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, “Broken Hearts Club” and “Can’t Hardly Wait.” A certified lifeguard, Wiehl currently resides in Los Angeles, and enjoys skydiving, skiing and tennis in his free time. # # # BARBARA NIVEN (Ginny) – Barbara Niven is definitely living her dreams! She is one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses, shooting sixteen films and several guest star roles in the past two years alone. She is also on the National Board of Directors for the Screen Actors Guild. Barbara says she is living proof that anyone can make his or her dreams come true, at any age. She loves to inspire others, and has even started a Dreamers Network on her website to help others get the courage to make their dreams come true as well. Her motto is: “Don’t settle for less than wonderful in your life! And don’t give up five minutes before the miracle.” And because she has been there and done that, there is also an Eating Disorders/Cutters message board where people can go to start getting help. She also speaks at Eating Disorder Seminars to get the message out. “Every day I hear from someone who says something on my website has inspired them or made a difference. It doesn’t get much better than that,” she says. A native of Portland, Oregon, Niven’s upbringing hardly suggested the career she chose to pursue. She dreamed of being an actress and writer – and loved being the center of attention as a child – but Niven was also decidedly a tomboy. She grew up with a horse in her backyard, and went hunting and fishing with the guys. She married at a young age and had a daughter, who is now is going after her own dreams in Environmental Education. Niven had put her own dreams on hold while becoming a wife and mother. Finally, one day she received something in the mail about her upcoming ten year high school reunion, asking, “Are you where you thought you’d be ten years ago?” She says it hit her like a ton of bricks that she was only living everybody else’s idea of who she should be. So despite being a single mother, and hearing that it was impossible without a degree, she talked her way into a news internship at Portland‘s NBC affiliate, KGW, and sold her first story to network. Fans of the daytime drama “One Life to Live” will recognize her as Liz Coleman Reynolds, a role she played from 2002 to 2003. Her additional credits include guest roles on “Eli Stone,” “McBride,” “Charmed,” “Navy NCIS,” ‘The Perfect Neighbor,” “Las Vegas,” “Cold Case” and “E.R.” When she is not in front of the camera, Barbara takes time to pursue other aspects that enrich her life. She still loves horses, and just got back from a weeklong stay at a cattle ranch in Montana, learning to herd and cut cattle. She considers herself a computer geek and has recently taken up golf.
