THE ELIXIR OF LOVE FOR FAMILIES PRODUCTION TEAM BIOGRAPHY ALLEN MOYER, Set Designer Allen Moyer (born 1958) has designed sets for numerous theater, opera, and ballet productions. He designed Bizetʼs Carmen for Seattle Opera; Gluckʼs Orfeo ed Euridice at the Metropolitan Opera and at Glimmerglass; Donizettiʼs Don Pasquale and Rossiniʼs Viaggio a Reims at New York City Opera; Mozartʼs Abduction from the Seraglio at Houston Grand Opera; Donizettiʼs Elisir dʼamore at Opera Colorado; Verdiʼs Falstaff, Mozartʼs Così fan tutte, Handelʼs Agrippina, and Richard Straussʼs Daphne at Santa Fe; and Donizettiʼs Lucia di Lammermoor and Belliniʼs Puritani at Opera Theatre St. Louis. His designs have appeared in celebrated productions at the New York City Opera, the San Francisco Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and the Seattle Opera, as well as the San Francisco Ballet. He staged the world premiere of Stewart Wallace's Harvey Milk at the Houston Grand Opera in 1995 and the world premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon's The Grapes of Wrath at the Minnesota Opera in 2007. He designed his first set for the Metropolitan Opera for their new production of Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice which premiered in 2007. Moyer worked for the first time on Broadway for the 1996 revival of Tartuffe. He has since designed sets for ten more Broadway shows, including Thurgood, Little Dog Laughed, The Constant Wife, and Twelve Angry Men, winning an Obie Award and garnering Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominations for his work on the 2006 musical Grey Gardens.
