Eidfjord – Private Excursion – The Ultimate Sightseeing Tour The excursion starts in Eidfjord. By bus, you will follow the Eio river, famous for its trout and salmonfishing, all the way to the "Hardangervidda Nature Centre". Its friendly staff will welcome you with open arms and show you around. In this family-oriented center you will learn everything there is to know about Norwegian nature, the climate and environment, presented in the most interesting way possible. You will visit various exhibitions, but the highlight is a panoramic movie which will bring you on a visual journey along the fjord, mountains and waterfalls. After the visit to Hardangervidda Nature Center, the excursion continues towards the Måbødal valley, where you will be surrounded by spectacular mountains. Driving through various tunnels and over authentic stone bridges, you will arrive at Hardangervidda, Europe's biggest mountain plateau. The plateau lies over the treelimit and is home to the Hardangervidda National Park. The bus then drives on, following a road with several hairpin bends, towards Fossli hotel which is located on top of a mountain. In this hotel you will find an old Zimmermann piano which was used by the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. From the hotel you will have an mesmerizing view over the Vøringsfossen waterfall. The waterfall has a free fall of 145 meters and a total height of 182 meters. This makes the Vøringsfossen one of the highest waterfalls in Europe and an absolute "must see"!
