Hardy registered six tackles and forced a fumble for the Falcons in a 32-22 loss at home on Saturday, Sept. 22. His forced fumble with 1:04 remaining gave the Falcons one last shot at a fourth-quarter comeback against the Bulldogs. The Falcons recovered on their 39-yard line but fumbled on the next play which halted their rally. This is the fi rst CIAA weekly honor for Hardy in his collegiate career. Three Falcons have won CIAA football player of the week awards this season. Roy Garris (Jr./Raleigh, NC) of Saint Augustine’s University was chosen CIAA Bowie State 1-0 3-1 Defensive Back of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 11 for his career-high 13-tackle Virginia Union 1-0 2-1 performance against North Carolina Central University on Saturday, Sept. 8. Garris Virginia State 1-0 1-2 Elizabeth City State 0-0 1-1 was the game’s leading tackler in the loss to Central. His previous career-high was 11 Chowan 0-0 1-2 in 2017 against both Livingstone College and Fayetteville State University.
