56Th ANNUAL NEW YORK EMMY® AWARDS

THE NEW YORK CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF THE 56th ANNUAL NEW YORK EMMY® AWARDS New York, NY, April 14, 2013 – WNBC-TV was the big winner tonight at the 56th Annual New York Emmy® Awards which took place at the Marriott Marquis’ Broadway Ballroom. Following WNBC-TV with 21 Awards was MSG Network, which won 16 New York Emmy® Awards. WNBC-TV’s Empire State Shooting – 11pm News took home the Emmy® for best “Evening Newscast (Under 35 Minutes)” for its August 24, 2012 broadcast. WNBC-TV took home the Emmy® for best “Evening Newscast (Over 35 minutes)” for its Occupy Wall Street: Taking Back Zuccotti Park – 5PM News. The 2013 Governors’ Award was presented to Thirteen for its significant contributions to our region and its commitment to creating and broadcasting educational and inspiring programming that has touched the hearts of viewers for the past 50 years. Presenting the award was Dick Cavett, the Emmy® Award-winning TV host of The Dick Cavett Show airing on PBS from 1977- 1982.
