If we equate the serpent in the Garden of Eden with Satan, then the text says that God created the serpent; so in this interpretation, God created Satan. “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made.” (Genesis 3:1) • Fallen from heaven “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” (Luke 10:18) • Satan has its own angels “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’” (Matthew 25:41) • Fallen angels? Within the New Testament, demons are not described as fallen angels. ◦ The tradition of fallen angels comes from the Book of Enoch.
