In the new campaign, star including Prince Fielder, David Freese, Curtis Granderson, Matt Kemp, Evan Longoria, David Ortiz, Justin Verlander, Shane Victorino and CJ Wilson pledge their loyalty to the American League or National League and their desire to win the All-Star Game and earn home field advantage in the World Series for their league. It was Fielder’s home run off Wilson in the 2011 All-Star Game in Phoenix that propelled the National League to victory, enabling Freese and the Cardinals to have home-field advantage in the epic seven-game 2011 World Series. During the 83rd MLB All-Star Game (#ASG) on FOX Sports on Tuesday, July 10 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City MLB will allow social media stations to be set up adjacent to each clubhouse letting players to interact with fans once they are no longer competing in the game and before returning to the bench. ROSENTHAL: MLB PUTS REPLAY UNDER FURTHER REVIEW – This past Friday, Johan Santana threw the first no-hitter in Mets history. However, he wouldn’t have if baseball had been resolving fair/foul calls with the latest ball-tracking technology according to MLB on FOX & FOXSports.com reporter Ken Rosenthal . “Cameras and computers from a British firm, Hawk-Eye Innovations, would have determined the exact position of Carlos Beltran ’s drive down the left-field line in the sixth inning,” Rosenthal writes. “An electronic signal would have been sent to an umpire’s earpiece or watch instantaneously, and Beltran’s ball would have been called fair with virtually no delay. Sounds great, no? Alas, when it comes to additional instant replay in Major League Baseball, nothing is as simple as it seems.” Rosenthal feels it’s all a matter of how far Bud Selig and Major League Baseball want to go. What's also interesting is that of the top running backs, they seem to be committing to schools in pairs.” -more- FOX Sports NQ&A – Page 3 Team 1st RB 2nd RB USC #1 Ty Isaac #3 Justin Davis Oklahoma #2 Keith Ford #8 Greg Bryant Oregon #4 Thomas Tyner #11 Dontre Wilson Ohio State #6 Jalin Marshall #10 Ezekiel Elliot Alabama #12 Altee Tenpenny #16 Tyren Jones “The debate for top running back in the country is going to be a strong one. On paper, USC looks like the runaway winner with two of the top three prospects, but when teams are signing this caliber of talent in bunches, they're just as likely to end up with the best overall running back as the difference between No. 1 and No. 16 just isn't that wide.” To view the top 1500 prospects and additional analysis from Kennedy, click here: http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1191918.html UFC FLYWEIGHT REMATCH JOHNSON VS. MCCALL TOO CLOSE TO CALL – According to FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight,” analyst Kenny Florian , this weekend’s Flyweight rematch between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall at UFC ON FX: JOHNSON VS. MCCALL is as evenly matched as two opponents can be. “Their first fight was one of the best of the year. McCall was very successful with his takedowns and he is going to have to do that from the start. Demetrious is going to have to be better with his wrestling and counter better than he did in the first fight. This is just too tough to call.” FUEL TV airs the Weigh-ins on Thursday, June 7 (4:00 PM ET). Coverage continues with the UFC Prelims on FUEL TV live on Friday, June 8 (6:00 PM ET), hosted by Karyn Bryant , with analysis from former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir and Flyweight Contender Joseph Benavidez . The night ends with the live UFC Postfight Show on FUEL TV , on Friday, June 8 (11:00 PM ET).
