Salient Points of Speech by BJP National President, Shri Amit Shah Flagging Off "Parivartan Yatra" in Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) Saturday, 05 November 2016 Salient Points of the Speech of BJP National President Shri Amit Shah during Parivartan Yatra, Saharanpur In 2014, western Uttar Pradesh had laid the foundation of BJP’s spectacular victory in Lok Sabha elections. This time too, we are kick starting our campaign from western UP. The Parivartan Yatra, which will travel through the state and conclude on December 24, will lay the foundation for BJP’s two third majority in ensuing assembly elections. In 2014, the large hearted voters of Uttar Pradesh gave BJP 73 of 80 Lok Sabha seats that enabled us to form a full majority government at the centre. The approaching assembly elections of UP are crucial for the state’s future. In the last 15 years, it was either SP or BSP that formed the government and as a result, development in the state has completely stopped. If one wants to see development, he should visit villages in BJP ruled states. Each village has 24 hour power, ambulance reaches within 8 minutes, youth doesn’t have to migrate in search of jobs, and there is water in farmlands. Uttar Pradesh has become a laggard on the development index and those responsible for progress of the state are fighting among themselves. Uncle (Shivpal Yadav) is abusing his nephew (Akhilesh Yadav) and vice versa while aunt (Mayawati) is abusing both. None of them are bothered about development. Neither SP or BSP can bring development in the state. If you want progress and prosperity, you will need to elect a BJP government with full majority. You already have PM Narendra Modi at the centre who has been elected by you. If we have BJP CM in UP, we will make it India’s number One state in the next five years. Mayawati claims that if BSP wins, law and order will become robust in the state. I wish to remind her that during her rule between 2008 and 2011, there were maximum cases of atrocities against the Dalits. Maximum murders took place during Mayawati’s rule while crime rate was 30% more than the national average. There was also rampant corruption when Mayawati was CM. If BSP again comes to power, UP will not benefit but Mayawati will have additional 200-300 statues of her own across the state. It was during Kalyan Singh’s tenure as CM that UP became free of goonda elements. Then, goondas were either in jail or they were forced to go underground. The BJP government had given strong law and order. During SP’s rule, the land grabbing incident in Mathura hurt UP’s image across the country. The goondas of SP have been responsible for grabbing land of the poor while the mining mafia has cornered the state’s resources During SP’s rule, crime has grown by a massive 161%. Western UP has been worst hit and as a result, the original inhabitants of this region have been forced to migrate to other states. I assure all of you that if BJP forms government in UP, no one will have to leave his or her village. If anyone has to leave, it will those who are trying to uproot you from your homes and villages. CM Akhilesh Yadav had said that till the time he is CM, Mukhtar Ansari and Afzal Ansari will have no place in SP. The voter of UP today wants to know that now that both of them are in SP, why you continue to be the CM of the state. Then entire SP is full of Mukhtar, Afzal, Ateeq and Azam while BSP has Naseemuddin. There is devil on one side and deep sea on the other. However, there is no goonda element in BJP. Only BJP can give goonda free UP. We have tried our best to compensate sugarcane farmers. We deposited 6,000 crore rupees directly in the accounts of sugarcane farmers. If BJP will form government in the state, sugarcane farmers will get money in their accounts before second sowing. The government has taken a number of steps for the benefit of sugarcane farmers. We have stopped import of raw sugar, increased import duty, and raised prices of ethanol. We have ensured gas connections to 30 lakh BPL families in the state. Congress, BSP and SP have been protesting the government’s response to the Supreme Court query on the issue of Triple Talaq. Even Muslim women have the right to a secured and safe life and practices like triple talaq should go. For the sake of votes, these parties are playing with the rights of Muslim women. Opposition parties are also playing with issue of national security. After surgical strikes, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi termed it as “khoon ki dalaali.” I wish to tell Rahul that this is not Sonia Manmohan but Narendra Modi’s government. Here, bullets will be answered by bombs. A few days back, I saw Rahul Gandhi raising the issue of OROP. He has perhaps forgotten that the issue of OROP has been hanging fire from the time his grandmother was PM. Even your father was PM while Congress ran the government under your mother’s leadership for 10 years but there was no decision on OROP. On the other hand, Narendra Modi government has deposited 5500 crore rupees directly in the accounts of soldiers and solved this issue. It is shameful that Rahul is playing votebank politics over the suicide of an Army veteran and trying to misguide people. However, the country’s soldier knows that it is Modi government that has delivered on OROP. I was incharge of UP elections in 2014. I see that enthusiasm now is several times more than 2014. We are going to form the government in the state with the biggest majority. .
