Fishers wants Noblesville students show public input on their colors, honor local veterans 70-acre Geist waterfront park The REPORTER Mayor Scott Fadness has announced plans to invest in a 70-acre waterfront park acquired in 2018 at Geist Reservoir. The park will be developed at the last-remain- ing undeveloped parcel of the 1,900-acre reservoir, located approximately at 111th Street on the east side of Olio Road. “The Geist area is one of Fishers’ most distinct assets and this park sets forth a mo- mentum for the long term sustainability of Geist Reservoir, its residents and our com- munity at large,” said Fadness. “In conver- sations with multiple residents and stake- holders, I’ve heard time and time again the argument that the long term vibrancy of Geist is a concern. Part of that involves environmental, boat traffic and new devel- opment. My hope is that this park develop- ment helps to mitigate those concerns for residents and turn Geist into a distinct asset for all of Fishers.” Conceptual designs of the park, to be named at a later date, show the possibili- ties of the park development: Fishing dock, public beach, kayak, boardwalk, natural Photo provided by Noblesville Schools playscapes and opportunities for adven- Schools throughout the Noblesville district honored the nation’s veterans on Friday, and the Noblesville High School ture races, triathlons, paddle boarding and junior class hosted veteran speakers and visitors at Friday’s program.
