facebook.com/warnermusicportugal www.fnac.pt Este verão comemora-se o 50.º aniversário do Festival de Woodstock, o acontecimento que definiu uma geração e um dos momentos mais icónicos da história da música popular. Entre os dias 15 e 18 de Agosto de 1969, mais de 400. 000 pessoas convergiram para a quinta de Max Yasgur, no Estado de Nova Iorque, para assistirem ao Festival de Woodstock. Atuaram 32 bandas e artistas individuais, incluindo alguns dos músicos mais populares e influentes da época. Esta efeméride é assinalada pela Warner Music com a realização da campanha SUMMER OF ‘69 através da qual se lançará um conjunto significativo de novas edições e reedições especiais limitadas de álbuns de artistas que tocaram no Festival. De referir, ainda, o regresso ao catálogo de vários LPs de artistas que fizeram parte do elenco do festival e de artistas que não tendo por lá actuado, todavia são contemporâneos do festival e a música integrava-se no espiríto de Woodstock, como por exemplo, os The Doors e Led Zeppelin, que tendo sido convidados a integrar o elenco do Festival de Woodstock, por razões várias, não chegaram a participar nele. Não obstante o importante significado cultural do Festival, nunca ninguém tentou documenta-lo em tempo real. Foi precisamente para preencher esta lacuna que os produtores Andy Zax e Steve Woolard trabalharam vários anos no projecto Woodstock 50 – Back To The Garden, um conjunto de compilações que vão ser editadas no dia 28 de Junho, através das quais se fará uma reconstrução quase integral de Woodstock, com registos de atuações de todos os artistas que participaram no Festival. Outras peças centrais da campanha SUMMER OF ’69, com data de edição marcada para dia 12 de Julho, são as novas versões em vinil colorido das duas bandas sonoras do documentário da autoria de Michael Wadleigh - - Woodstock: Music From The Original Soundtrack and More e Woodstock Two - e os novos volumes III e IV que incluem gravações nunca editadas em vinil. Woodstock Three e Woodstock Four apresentam actuações de artistas que não foram incluidos nas duas primeiras bandas sonoras como Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Sweetwater e Blood Sweat & Tears e novos temas de artistas que já tinham entrado no alinhamento das duas primeiras bandas sonoras como Canned Heat, Melanie, Arlo Guthrie e John Sebastian. Lá diz o ditado: Quem não se lembra dos anos 60, é porque não esteve lá. SUMMER of ’69 é uma maneira das pessoas que não estiveram lá conhecerem o que aconteceu naquela década.
