Led by trumpeter Bobby Shew, with former JOURNEY drummer extraordinaire Steve Smith, the concert features alumni from the early days of the famous Buddy Rich Big Band: The Tribute Band includes: Bobby Shew, Chuck Findley, Carl Saunders and Paul Gonzales on trumpet; Andy Fasco, Sam Reid, Pat LaBarbera, Charles Owens and Glenn Koster on saxophone; Chris Buckholz, Ben Finberg and Bill Austell on trombone; Jim Alrend on piano; and, Michael Glynn on bass. Inspired by his formative years in Puerto Rico, Irizarry performs classical, pasodobles, rumbas, nouveau flamenco, sambas, boleros, cariocas, rumba flamenca, bossa nova, South American, Caribbean and other styles on guitar. If you can’t find a style you like…but you will! Directed by Hannah MacPherson and starring Amber Midthunder, Shay Eyre and Kenneth Miller. Halfway House (2013) 7 minutes Julie, a young mental patient, finds herself in a ‘transitional living’ facility where both ‘transitional’ and ‘living’ are relative terms. Directed by Scott Milder and starring Amelia Ampuero, Evening Star Barron and Stephanie Grilo. U-46 Anomaly (2013) 14 minutes Set in the 1980s, a reporter goes to a desolate Southwestern town to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his daughter. Links to her disappearance send him searching for answers as he encounters far more than he ever anticipated. Directed by Seth Fuller and starring Lindsy Campbell and Dorian Roberts. Void (2014) 25 minutes After an astronaut escapes a catastrophic accident in deep space, he uses the memories of his wife to guide his crippled spaceship home. But, as he moves further into the dark, his reality becomes blurred and madness takes hold. Directed by Justin Golightly and starring William Arute, Catharine Pilafas and Jodi Lynn Thomas. Zombiewood (2013) 15 minutes There is a certain horror to awakening to the fact that you are now a zombie. What do you do with your new “undead” life? Stop Traffick (2014) 14 minutes A simple Midwestern mom scours Las Vegas looking for her young daughter and a man named “Kyle.” When she coaxes an irritated bar owner into helping her, they discover that the girl has to get out of Vegas now or risk being lost forever. Collaborative Horsemanship facilitates human authority with rather than dominion over horse. When learning and practicing Collaborative Horsemanship, horse guides human to a profound awareness of self and the way in which self interacts with all species. Roaming Wild (2014) 66 minutes This film is a modern day Western about the federal government's controversial wild horse round ups, and a cowboy, an activist, and a mountain man searching for solutions to protect life and land. Directed by Sylvia Johnson. Walkin’ N Circles (2012) 6 minutes Created for a New Mexico Horse Rescue Ranch to raise awareness of the work they do and the impact it has on both the horses and peoples’ lives. Charlotte has been both a product and creator of her times: every chapter in her life is a chapter in the story of modern feminist activism, from its roots in the 1960′s struggles for social justice, to international campaigns against gender-based violence today. Hours: Wednesday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. 2 Page June 4th, Wednesday 8 – 10:30 pm Drunktown’s Finest (2013) 95 minutes Sydney Freeland’s feature film debut and her response to a news story that characterized her hometown of Gallup, New Mexico, as “Drunktown, USA.” Her film focuses on the lives of three people from Gallup: Nizhoni was adopted and raised as a Christian by a white family; transsexual Felixxia dreams of becoming a model; and Sickboy is headed to basic training so he can take care of his soon-to-be-born child. We observe the Navajo Nation from the inside out through the eyes of these three unlikely characters. At first our preconceptions are reinforced, but slowly, as each of their lives unfolds, we confront the reality of living in this community. We see these three aspiring to leave their town behind. Directed bu Sidney Freeland and starring Tailinh Agoyo, Loren Anthony and Shauna Baker. A Man Named Paul (2014) 34 minutes The New Mexico Premiere of this short drama based on the true life event of Desi Perez, a loving husband and future dad. Desi suddenly becomes jobless and it seems he can't catch a break as a series of unfortunate events follow his unemployment. When all seems to be lost, Desi is able to persevere through his struggles with the help from an unexpected traveler. A story of finding hope in the least expected places. Directed by Jordee Arvin.
