The impact of this concentration on the environment, housing, economy, transportation and the overall well-being of citizens raises numerous questions. Lyon Métropole has opted to transform these constraints into opportunities by becoming a territory focused on the experimentation and the rollout of innovative solutions. LYON CO-SMART CITY, IT’S A METROPOLITAN AREA WHICH: • Puts people first and gives priority to well-being and quality of life for all • Addresses cities’ social, environmental and economical issues, and anticipates tomorrow’s global challenges facing every city • Invents and develops with all partners from the territory: local authorities, inhabitants, companies, universities, associations, and institutions… • Makes the city and urban renewal available for inventing, experimenting and implementing new solutions • Supports and stimulates innovation in every shape and form (uses, economic models, governance, technology…) within open and collaborative processes • Makes the best of digital technology and integrates new uses and associated methods (city as a service, collaborative approaches, prototyping, free- and open- sources culture…) A metropolitan area engaged in a constant and collective reinvention process in order to create social, societal and economic value, shared between all its stakeholders. Created on January 1st 2015, Lyon Métropole is a one-of-a- kind regional government owing to its authority in various fields (social, urban planning, economic). It perfectly combines economic attractiveness, development, vitality, insertion, good-living, well-being and city uses. As a matter of fact, the Smart City process is enhanced by these new jurisdictions and this new political project, by opening itself to new areas of exploration especially health, people care, culture and education. Our metropolitan area, with all involved players is looking to the future and engaging in a transformation that aims to produce innovation in answer to challenges linked to energy, urban, economic, technological, democratic and social transitions. Its role is to initiate, encourage, stimulate, guide, incite, participate, connect, impulse, facilitate… open up the scope of possibilities and create the conditions of innovation to co-construct a Smart City based on collective intelligence in favor of better city life and a Lyon way of life. Our ambition in transforming our metropolitan area is to innovate together with citizens for a more agile, balanced, humane and creative City. 09 PANORAMA 103 INITIATIVES FOR A CO-SMART CITY AURAMOB FREILOT FLEXICOV (OPTICITIES) NAVLY 1,000 TRAFFIC SENSORS SET UP (2,000 BY 2020) DYNAMIC BUS LANE ONLYMOOV (OPTIMOD’LYON) LE GRAND RENDEZ-VOUS CITYLOG GRAND LYON CARPOOLING URBAN FREIGHT NAVIGATOR (OPTIMOD’LYON) OPTYMOD’LYON LE.TA XI SINGLE TERRITORIAL USER ACCOUNT AGILE URAN LOGISTICS DELIVERY-ROUND OPTIMIZATION GPS (OPTIMOD’LYON) GRAND LYON COWORKING SUNMOOV (LYON SMART COMMUNITY) TWOONPARK CONTACTLESS STREET FURNITURE INTEROPERABILITY OF MOBILE AND EMBEDDED GPS (OPTICITIES) DEPLOYMENT OF 600 CHARGING STATIONS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES PREDICTIVE TRAFFIC LIGHT MANAGEMENT (OPTICITIES) VELO’V TUBÀ BLUELY TIMELY COWORKING GUIDE URBAN PASS GÉOVÉLO DIGITAL COUNTER DEPLOYMENT OF RESIDENTIAL FIBER (FTTH) TERRITORIAL SUPPORT PLATFORM (PASCALINE) HOST GRAND LYON DATA EDUCATOUCH METROPOLITAN PROJECT FOR SOLIDARITY MR.
