This Ph.D. thesis is an output of not only my passion for science but the valuable support extended to me by my guide Prof. B. F. Rodrigues and my parents. I am greatly indebted to my guide for seeing me though the challenging process of designing experiments, implementation, data collection, analyses and the synthesis of scientific research.
