Training centre: The Olympic Oval, Calgary 2012-13 season Michael is entering his sixth season with Canada’s national teams … He is teamed-up with Bart Schouten to coach 11 national and development teams skaters … He will focus on the 500 and 1,000 distances and these athletes: national team members Anastasia Bucsis, Jamie Gregg and Gilmore Junio; and development team skaters Alex Boisvert-Lacroix, William Dutton, Tamara Oudenaarden and Danielle Wotherspoon. 2011-12 season Coaching with Bart Schouten, they had skaters win a gold medal, two silver and a bronze at World Cups, and gold at the World Single Distances Championships … Outside of stepping on the podium, his skaters had 23 top 10 World Cup finishes and nine at the three world championships … They had one skater, Kaylin Irvine, compete in her first World Cup, World Sprint Championships and World Single Distances Championships. Ouardi finished 10th overall. He also competed in two World Cups and the World Single Distances Championships … Dubreuil was the 500-metre world champion and won bronze int he 1,000 metres at the World Junior Championships. He competed at his first career World Cup, setting the world junior record in the 500 metres. At Dubreuil’s first World Single Distances Championships, he was 11th overall in the 500. Other seasons Gregor coached at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics … He coached at the junior worlds from 1997 to 2002, 2007, and 2010 to 2012 … He coached at the World All-Round Championships in 1999, 2003 and 2004, and the World Single Distances Championships in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2012 … He was named SSC’s Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2012. Quick facts Gregor enjoys spending time with his family, reading and movies. 11 Long Track Speed Skating Canada TODD McCLEMENTS Development team and Olympic Oval coach Born: Dec.19, 1973, Toronto Hometown: Saskatoon Training centre: The Olympic Oval, Calgary 2012-13 season Todd is entering his first season with Canada’s development team … He will focus on the following 10 athletes: Kali Christ, Leo Landry, Kyle Parrott, Tori Spence, Brianne Tutt, Justin Warsylewicz, Shannon Rempel, Gabriel Chiasson- Poirier, Dustin Miller and Lauren McGuire. 2011-12 season Todd had four skaters from the Olympic Oval program qualify for their first World Cup teams, and two skaters qualify for their first senior World Championships … At the World Single Distances Championships, Kali Christ placed ninth, and at the World All-Around Championships Stefan Waples placed 21st overall … Todd also had two skaters qualify for the World Cup Final, where Kali Christ placed 15th in the 1,000 and 11th in the 1,500. Other seasons Todd has been coaching with the Olympic Oval Program since 2002 and was an assistant coach with Marcel Lacroix from 2002 to 2010. He has also coached national team skaters from Austria, China, the USA, Sweden and North Korea, including helping Anna Rokita of Austria to two top 10 finishes at the Torino 2006 Olympics. Todd has completed his diploma of high performance coaching from the National Coaching Institute Calgary and is a NCCP Level IV coach. Skater Todd skated in the Olympic Oval Program from 1991 to 2002 and had a top finish of second overall at the Canadian All-Around Championships.
