The facility’s new playing surface was completed prior to the 2017 season, completing a major portion of the renovation process. Previously known as Taylor Field, the venue dates back to the 1940s and Campbell’s junior college baseball days. Taylor Field was named for The new turf field was installed by ProGrass Turf, a leader in the synthetic Herbert B. Taylor, a supporter of Campbell University’s athletics programs. turf industry. ProGrass Turf created the ProGrass HR Baseball five-tool Taylor Field hosted the 1985, 1987, and 1988 Big South Conference synthetic turf system by using a two inch pile height and three different Baseball Tournaments. Winthrop won in 1985 and 1987, while Campbell infill mixtures. Together, these create
