VOCAL SOUNDS OF OKLAHOMA MENS A CAPELLA CHORUS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6TH 7:00 PM GRAND BALLROOM Vocal Sounds of Oklahoma is an award-winning a cappella chorus of men from various walks of life who love to sing four-part close-knit harmony. One of their members, Ed S. lives here at Epworth Villa. Very few of the members have any formal music training yet are dedicated to musical excellence in performances and competition. They sing a variety of styles of music from memory and without accompaniment including swing, jazz, gospel, folk songs, show tunes, and barbershop . EVERY RESIDENT whoever lived in Independent Living is eligible to vote. The 2020 officers submitted for election by the Nominating Committee are: President, Aulena Gibson, President-elect, Bill Elliott; Secretary-Elise Weed; Treasurer- Sally Lenz and Past President, Marilyn Williams. Other nominations may be made from the floor if the nominee has been previously contacted and has agreed to be willing to serve in that position if elected. The Resident Council will meet immediately following the adjournment of the Association. Those reporting are reminded to bring a written report for the secretary. These coffees are held every Thursday to give residents an opportunity to chat in an informal setting. CIMARRON MIDDLE SCHOOL ORCHESTRA FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6TH 10:30 AM GRAND BALLROOM The talented orchestra students from Cimarron Middle School in Edmond will be playing holiday music for us on Friday morning, December 6th, at 10:30 am in the Grand Ballroom. The group consists of forty 6th, 7th and 8th graders who are excited about sharing their talents with the residents of Epworth Villa. This operatic gem is a perfect holiday outing for the whole family! Amahl is a young boy living with his mother near Bethlehem. Amahl’s mother worries about their future because she has been forced to sell their sheep and they have no source of income. One evening, three royal visitors come by their house bearing gifts for a child of wonders. But, when they ask to spend the night, Amahl’s mother is faced with the question of whether those gifts are better given to the Christ child or taken to keep Amahl and his mother from becoming beggars.
