ISLAM No. Subject Legality (Al-Quran & Sunnah) 1. Islam Is the Only • َِّ ِ ِ ِ ِ يَاأَي َُّها الذي َن آَمنُوا اْد ُخلُوا ِف ال ّْسْلم َكافَّةً َوََل تَ تَّبعُوا ُخطَُوات Religion ِ ِ ِ ال َّشْيطَان إنَّوُ لَ ُك ْم َعُدّّو ُمب ٌني )سورة البقرة : 208( O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly] and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. (Surah Al-Baqarah : v208) 2. Islam is the way of life ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ َوَم ْن يَ ْبتَِغ َغْي َر اْْل ْسََلم دينًا فَ لَ ْن ي ُْقبَ َل مْنوُ َوُىَو ِف اْْلخَرة م َن ا ْْلا ِسِرين ( سورة ال عمران :85( َ َ And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. (Surah Al-Imran : v85) No. Subject Legality (Al-Quran & Sunnah) • ِ ِ ِ رانِيا وَٰل ِكن كان حنِيفا مسلِما وما كان ِمن Prophet Ibrahim .3 َما َكا َن إبْ َراىي ُم يَ ُهوديِّا َوََل نَ ْصَ ِّ ََ ْ َ َ َ ً ُ ْ ً ََ َ َ َ was a Muslim ِ الْم ْشِرك َني ) سورة العمران : 67( ُ ,Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah ]. And he was not of the polytheists. (Surah Aali-Imran : v19) • ِ ِ Islam .4 إِ َّن الّْدين عْنَد اللَّو اِْْل ْسََلُم (سورة آل عمران :19( َ .Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam (Surah Al-Imran : v19) ُقل إِ هن َصﻻتي َو ُن ُسكي َو َمحيا َي َو َمماتي ِ ه ِّلِل َر ِّب العا َلمي َن Say, ‘Indeed my prayer and my worship, my life and my death are for the sake of Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. (Al-An’am 162) No. Subject Legality AQIDAH(Al-Quran & Sunnah ) • َّ َّ ِ َّ (Allah (God .1 قُ ْل ُىَو اللوُ أَ َحٌد )1( اللوُ ال َّص َم ُد )2( ََلْ يَل ْد َوََلْ يُولَْد )3( َوََلْ يَ ُكن لوُ ُكُفًوا أَحٌد )4( )سورة اْلخَلص :1-4( َ ( Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One (1 Allah , the Eternal Refuge(2) He neither begets nor is born(3) Nor is there to Him any equivalent(4) (Surah Al-Ikhlas: v 1-4 ) • ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ َِّ ِ ِِ ِِ (Faith (Iman .2 ءآََم َن الَّرُسوُل ِبَا أُنْزَل إلَْيو م ْن َربّْو َوالُْمْؤمنُوَن ُكل ّّ آََم َن باللو َوَمََلئ َكتو َوُكتُبو ِِ ٍ ِ ِِ ِ ِ َوُرُسلو ََل ن َُفّْرُق ب ََْني أَ َحد م ْن ُرُسلو َوقَالُوا ََسْعنَا َوأَطَْعنَا غُْفَرانَ َك َرب َّنَا َوإلَْي َك ِ الَْمصي ُ ) سورة البقرة :285( The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination. (Surah Al-Baqarah : 285) No. Subject Legality (Al-Quran & Sunnah) • ِ ِ ٍ ِ ِ ِ َّ َّ َِّ Islam .3 بُ َِن اْل ْسَلُم َعلَى ََخْس : َشَهاَدة أَْن َل إلَوَ إَل اللوُ ، َوأَن ُُمََّمًدا َرُسوُل اللو ، ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ َوإقَام ال َّصَلة ، َوإيتَاء الَّزَكاة ، َو َصْوم َشْهِر َرَم َضا َن ، َوَح ّْج الْبَ ْيت ) رواه البخاري و املسلم( “Islam is based on five pillars: 1. testifying that there is no God worthy to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah and His servant; 2. performing the prayer; 3. paying the Zakat (obligatory charity); 4. fasting the month of Ramadan; 5. and perfuming Hajj." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim) • ا ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِِ ِِ ِِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِِ Iman .4 ْلْْيَا ُن أَْن ت ُْؤم َن باهلل َوَمَلَئ َكتو َوُكتُبو َوُرُسلو َوالْيَ ْوم اْلخر َوت ُْؤم َن بالَْقَدر َخْيه ِ َو َشّْره ) رواه البخاري و املسلم( Iman, It is that you believe in: 1. Allah, 2. and His angels, 3. and His Books, 4. and His Messengers, 5. and in the Last Day, 6. and in qadar (fate), both in Khair and Sharr (Riwayah Bukhari & Muslim) PURPOSE OF LIFE No. Subject Legality (Al-Quran & Sunnah) ِ ِ To do good deeds .1 الَّذي َخلَق الْمو َت وا ْْلياَة ليب لُوُكم أَيُّ ُكم أَحسن َعمًَل (سورة امللك : 2( َ َ ْ َ ََ َْ َ ْ ْ ْ َ ُ َ Allah (Who) has created death and life ;that He may test you which of you is best in deed. (Surah Al-Mulk : v 2) ِ ِ َِّ ِ ِ ( To worship Allah and .2 وما َخلَْق ُت ا ْْل َّن واْْلنس إَل لي ْعبُدون (سورة الذاريات : submit to him 56 ََ َ َ َ ُ And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me (Allah). (Surah Az-Zariyat: v 56) ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ To be the Caliph .3 َوإْذ قَاَل َربُّ َك لْلَمَلَئ َكة إ ِّّْن َجاع ٌل ِف اﻷَْر ِض َخليَفةً ) سورة البقرة : )30 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels; “Indeed, I will make upon the earth a caliph.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: v 30) No. Subject Legality (Al-Quran & Sunnah) ْ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ۖ َّ ِ To utilize all the abilities .4 َولََق ْد َذَرأنَا ْلََهنَّ َم َكث ًيا ّْم َن ا ْْل ّْن َواْْلنس ََلُْم قُ لُو ٌب َل يَ ْفَقُهوَن ِبَا given by Allah َّ ِ ِ َّ ِ ۖ َِٰ َوََلُْم أَْعٌُ ني َل ي ُْبصُروَن ِبَا َوََلُْم آَذا ٌن َل يَ ْسَمعُوَن ِبَا أُولَئ َك ِ ۖ َِٰ ِ َكاْﻷَنْ َعام بَ ْل ُى ْم أَ َض ُّل أُولَئ َك ُى ُم الْغَافلُوَن ) سورة اﻷعراف : )179 And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless. (Surah Al-’Araf : v 179) AKHLAQ (Morality) No. Subject Legality (Al-Quran-Sunnah) 1. To follow Prophet • لقد كان لكم ِِف رسوِل اللَِّو أُسوة حسنة لِمن كان ي رجو اللَّو ََ ْ َ َ َ ُ ْ َ ُ ْ ٌَ َ ٌََ َ ْ َ َ َْ ُ َ Muhammad as our role والْي وم اْْل ِخر وذََكر اللَّو َكثِيا )سورة اﻷحزاب: model. )21 َ There has certainly been for you in the Messengerً َ َ of Allahَ َ an excellentََْ pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often. (Surah Al-Ahzab : v 21) • َِّ ِ ّْ ِ ِ Good Behavior / High .2 إَّنَا بعثْ ُت ﻷََُتم م َكارم اﻷَ ْخَلق .Moral Standars . I have been sent to achieve; the culmination ofَ highَ moralَ standardsُ (Riwayah :Sunan Abi Daud) To ask forgiveness and َّ َّ َّ ۖ ِ ِ ِ َِّ .3 إَّنَا الُْمْؤمنُوَن إ ْخَوةٌ فَأَ ْصل ُحوا بَ َْني أَ َخَويْ ُك ْم َوات ُقوا اللوَ لََعل ُك ْم forgive others تُ رََحُوَن ) سورة اْلجرات : 10( ْ ,The believers are but brothers so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy. (Surah Al-Hujurat : v 10) No. Subject Legality (Al-Quran-Sunnah) َِّ ٍ ِ To not ridicule others .4 يَا أَي َُّها الذي َن آَمنُوا َل يَ ْس َخْر قَ ْوٌم ّْمن قَ ْوم َع َسى أَن يَ ُكونُوا َخْي ًرا ّْمْن ُه ْم َوَل ن َساء ّْمن ِ ِ ِ ِ نّْ َساء َع َسى أَن يَ ُك َّن َخْي ًرا ّْمْن ُه َّن َوَل تَ ْلمُزوا أَنُف َس ُك ْم َوَل تَ نَاب َُزوا باﻷَلَْقاب بْئ َس ِ ِ ِ َّ ِ َّ ِ اَل ْس ُم الُْف ُسو ُق ب َْعَد اْلْيَان َوَمن َلْ ي َتُ ْب فَأُولَئ َك ُى ُم الظال ُموَن (سورة اْلجرات : )11 O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. (Surah Al- Hujurat : v 11) َِّ ِ ِ َّ ِ َّ ِ [To avoid [negative .5 يَا أَي َُّها الذي َن آَمنُوا ا ْجتَنبُوا َكث ًيا ّْم َن الظ ّْن إ َّن ب َْع َض الظ ّْن إْْثٌ َوَل ََتَ َّس ُسوا َوَل ي َْغتَب َ ِ َ َ ْ َِ ِ ِ َّ َّ ِ َّ َّ assumption ب َّْع ُض ُكم ب َْع ًضا أُُي ُّب أ َح ُدُك ْم أن يَأ ُك َل َْلْ َم أخيو َمْيتًا فَ َكرْىتُُموهُ َوات ُقوا اللوَ إن اللوَ ِ تَ َّوا ٌب َّرحي ٌم ) سورة اْلجرات : Not to spy and backbite )12 each other.
