The EHF Media and Communications Team The hosts of the EHF EURO 2014 For the second time in history the Women’s EHF European Championship will be hosted by two nations, after Denmark and Norway had welcomed the best 16 women’s national teams in 2010. Both the Hungarian Handball Federation and the Croatian Handball Federation have a long experience in organising major handball events for men’s and women’s teams. Hungary hosted the Women’s EHF EURO in 2004, finishing the final tournament with a 29:25 victory against Russia in the bronze medal match. Most recently, in May 2014, the country’s capital, Budapest, hosted the MVM EHF FINAL4, the final weekend of the Women’s EHF Champions League. Croatia hosted the Men’s EHF EURO in 2000, the Women’s World Championship in 2003 and also the Men’s World Championship in 2009. It means that Hungary and Croatia are prepared to offer a colourful and entertaining experience for the audience conveying a special championship spirit in 2014. During the event itself, it will provide a complete media service from the EHF European Championship.
