After an accomplished playing career with his native Derbyshire, Essex and of course at Test level from 1976-1984 with England, he became the first man to hold the chief position of National Selector. A hugely respected figure in the world of cricket playing alongside Sir Ian Botham, Mike Gatting OBE, Graham Gooch OBE, David Gower OBE and Bob Willis MBE during a period regarded by many as the most competitive Test cricket has ever been and an extremely entertaining host, who, even if you have no idea about cricket, will have you and your guests laughing out loud with tales from both on and off the cricket pitch.
