Jeff Christmas – Conductor Jeff is a Canadian-based composer, arranger, conductor, drummer, percussionist and trumpeter. He studied at York University, University of Western Ontario, and Berklee College of Music in Boston where he majored in Film Scoring and Composition. Jeff's original compositions for a wide variety of ensembles are in demand internationally. His music for the Opening Ceremonies of the Canada Games premiered on national television in 2001. Jeff has worked on various feature films and television programs with credits including High Point Casinos (Global TV) and “Chatroom” (HBO, BET). His most recent commissions include Bluewater Portrait for solo oboe and orchestra and Canadian Voyage, a five-movement suite for French horn and orchestra. Michael Shotton – Lead Vocals Born in Newcastle, England, Michael Shotton loved music from the moment he discovered The Beatles. Subsequently performing, by the ripe old age of three, Michael accumulated years of experience playing drums (southpaw!) and singing in countless original, top-40 and specialty tribute acts. In 1988, Michael signed to Herb Alpert’s label, A&M, with the pop-based group “Diamond Life”, who’s hit “Habits of the Heart” still, gets play on Canadian AOR radio. This launched one of the most diverse, storied kinds of careers that could possibly be imagined. He plays: he sings: he entertains. But he also writes: he engineers: he produces. Consult his friends and family, as character witnesses: they will say, "It doesn't do Mike justice, to simply say he's versatile, or eclectic. He's possessed by an inexhaustible, energetic spirit." Rique Franks - Backing Vocals Best known for her duets with Dan Hill (In Your Eyes, Hold Me Now), Rique Franks has sung, toured, recorded and/or written with many Canadian and international recording artists including Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Eddie Schwartz (Writer for Pat Benatar), Ronnie Greenfield-formerly Spector (The Ronettes), Stephan Mocchio (Celine Dion), Marc Jordan (Rod Stewart) - the list goes on and on. Currently, Rique performs live as a featured soloist and core performer with Jeans 'n Classics singing everything from Annie Lennox to Gershwin with orchestras across North America. Rique can be heard daily as the on-air speaking-voice of Showcase Television and Showcase Diva. You can listen to more of her stuff here. Kathryn Rose - Backing Vocals As a singer songwriter, Kathryn Rose is known for her artful, cerebral brand of sexy/sad/funny cinematic pop. Her latest release, Something I Can Use (2010), is a compilation of favorites from her three previous solo albums, with new, live and reworked tracks, available at her website and on iTunes. Kathryn’s reputation also precedes her as one of the country’s top “go-to" voices, having sung on well-over 60 albums of other artists. Her own songs have been placed in film and television. Kathryn was also a successful actress in film, TV and stage until she left that world for music in her mid-twenties. Currently she is balancing her solo music career, sitting on the Board of Canadian Independent Recording Artists’ Association. Proud to support the TD 30 Under 30 Program. We’re working together with Centre In The Square to make a difference in our community.
