City / County Council / National Updates • Any relevant updates from County & City Councils are being cascaded to residents via Micheldever Village and Micheldever Station Facebook Groups / Notice Boards / Parish Response Group incl. local support group co-ordinators. • Solent LEP have a support hub with advice for local businesses. • All ‘extremely vulnerable’ / ‘shielded’ households should be registered via government website and known to HCC / WCC. Full guidance here. • HCC ‘Hantshelp4vulnerable’ help-line launched – 0333 3704000 [9am-5pm daily]. Promoted via Facebook Groups / Noticeboards / Community Support Groups. Help may be provided through WCC, voluntary sector or we may be asked to support through local volunteers / Community Support Groups. • Advice on government website on helping safely, shared with response group. • NHS Volunteer Responders now up and running – unclear if any overlaps / dovetailing with local support groups. No contact locally thus far. Community Support • Micheldever Village and Micheldever Station Facebook Groups being used for significant updates and directing people to local support groups. • Notices on all Parish Council Noticeboards and at churches with back-up contacts if not in contact with local help, plus Hantshelp4vulnerable number. • Micheldever A [Winchester Road, / Village Centre / The Crease - Anna Gillings] – WhatsApp group in place. Some shielded / vulnerable households known. • Micheldever B [Duke Street / Southbrook Cottages / A33 – Juliet Pattinson / Church Group] - WhatsApp group in place. Some shielded / vulnerable households known. • Micheldever C [Church Street / Rook Lane / Dever & Barron Closes – Richard Ellis / Charlotte Cobb] – WhatsApp group in place. • Micheldever D [Northbrook – Anne Freeland] – WhatsApp group in place. • East Stratton [Sheryl Husson Martin / Zoe Gustar]– WhatsApp Group in place. • Woodmancott [Linda Albin / Rhiannon Kerr - Church] – Group in place within very small community. • Micheldever Station West [Graham Foot / Andy Adams] – Group in place, quiet. • Micheldever Station East [Andy Adams / Simon Weatherall] – Leaflets in place, quiet. • West Stratton – Very small community with mutual support and awareness. Tessa Robertson will report any issues that require additional support. • Weston Colley – Very small community with mutual support and awareness. Additional contact / info desired to ensure reporting of any additional need. • Pro-forma letter prepared and available as required for anyone making additional journeys / purchases for community support - a register to be kept of those issued. • Carousel Park – County Councillor J Porter asked to confirm support in place. St. Mary’s Foodbank • Emergency Food Bank now in place at St. Marys church with relevant permissions – well stocked and being used. Suitable signage and cleaning equipment in place. • Small sub-bank / Food Box set up In porch at Warren Centre, Micheldever Station. Signage in place advising of precautions, back-up contacts and wider range of items at St. Mary’s. • Donations of industrial / catering supplies from several local businesses including the Dove Inn and Stratton Lane Brewery. Additional items may be able to sourced if there are specific needs / shortages. • Food Banks Promoted to residents via noticeboards, Facebook and local WhatsApp groups and update sent to Hampshire Chronicle. Churches / Village Halls / School • Churches - Church buildings closed except St. Marys hosting Food Bank. Weekly meditations being circulated by email and A digital service is being provided via YouTube each Sunday – All Saints ES or email . Winchester Cathedral are providing daily video reflections and prayers on their Worship at Home website. • Village Halls – All planned usage anticipated as being suspended but available for contingency requirements. • Micheldever Primary School – School is closed, key worker children accommodated at Barton Stacey but very low numbers reported. • Micheldever & Stratton Pre-School – Closed awaiting developments. • Playgrounds – Playgrounds at Warren and Lord Rank fields have been closed with suitable signage and tape; to be monitored and refreshed as required. • Allotments – Sites permitted to stay open as per government guidance, with appropriate precautions / restrictions. Infrastructure • Railway – Reduced train service continues, hourly to Basingstoke / Portsmouth via Winchester, very little usage evident. Full details on SWR website. • Buses – Tuesday and Friday 95 / 96 Stagecoach bus serving the villages still be running; updated information on Stagecoach website. Bombay Sapphire bus suspended. • Postal Services – Delivery and collections continuing but may be less frequent. Mobile Post Office on Wednesdays in Micheldever should be as normal but not confirmed. • Local Shops – Local stores including Barn [North Waltham], Dever [Sutton Scotney] and Mace [Sutton Scotney] continue to cope well only shortages now flour, pasta etc. M&S / Spar shops at Popham also well stocked with only a few shortages. • Waste Disposal – Collections continue as normal however additional guidance issued – posted to FB groups. HCC Waste Recycling Centres closed. Fly-tipping experienced at several areas in the parish and reported through normal processes. Pubs / Businesses • Half Moon & Spread Eagle – Now provide takeaway / collection service on selected days of the week – contact the pub on 01962 774150 or email [email protected] for details / orders. New website hoping to be operational imminently and updates to be shared via village Facebook Group. • Dove Inn – Now closed, donation of items made to food bank. Can potentially assist with additional supplies if shortages experienced. • Stratton Lane Brewery – Delivery service being offered locally via website. • Wonston Arms – Delivery service available locally with food selection of beer, wines and spirits - see website / Facebook Page. • Frying High – Operating with precautions - takeaway fish and chips at Warren Centre on Thursday from 6.30pm – 8.30pm and other local villages on other nights. Updates on Facebook Page. • Yum Yum Food Truck – Now closed until further notice. • Micheldever Group – Office with no / minimal staff, tyre site continuing to operate with suitable precautions / contactless offering. • Forest Holidays – Website states all sites closed until 26th April. • EPR [Warren Farm Barn] – Shut down but recent break-in so would appreciate occasional checks, emergency contact details provided. • Oakes Brothers – Operating as normal with precautions according to website. Dever Magazine / Parish Website • Weekly updates of COVID responds being published on Parish Council website with banner on homepage. • May edition of the Dever in production – items to be submitted ASAP for inclusion. • Digital Devers to be placed on village website and linked from Facebook group. • Parish website updated with relevant information by Peter O’Keefe. Other Community Support • Local scout group leaders keen to help with anything they can – contact Kathy Ellis. • Rotary Club helping to coordinate and support in Winchester – contact through Simon Weatherall. Parish Council • Noticeboards updated with latest information including community support contacts, Hansthelp4vulnerabkle and police contact notice. • April Meeting – held by correspondence, minutes to be placed on noticeboards and website as usual. • Overhanging tree at Warren Field – Estate to be asked to respond.
