Château Haut Condissas of Château Rollan de By, is a special prestige reserve of the best parcels. The vineyard is 37 acres on a clayey- limestone hilltop terroir, the vines are 40 years old with an average density of 10,000 vines per acre. APPELLATION Bordeaux (Médoc), France VARIETAL COMPOSITION 60% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc 90-93 WINEMAKING & VINTAGE NOTES POINTS Harvest occurred from October 3rd through October 13th, 2009. WINE SPECTATOR Grapes are handpicked, collected in small crates and sorted manually 2010 in the cellar. Cold pre-fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, long 90 PTS WINE ADVOCATE 12/11 maceration between three and four weeks at 82°F in new oak barrels on fine lees. Followed by malolactic fermentation and lees stirring in 100% new oak barrels. AGEING First, the wine undergoes micro-bullage or microoxygenation and then is aged on lees with regular bâtonnage during three months. 18 months WINEMAKER aged in new oak barrels (100% French oak).
