IIFCL/ESMU/ADB/2019/115/V2 5 Environment and Social Due Diligence Report Dewas Bypass Tollway Private Limited 1. PURPOSE OF THE REPORT 1. This Environmental and Social Due Diligence Report (ESDDR) has been carried out by India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) in consultation with the Concessionaire, Dewas Bypass Tollway Private Limited (DBTPL) to assess the adequacy of the project with the applicable National, IIFCL’s ESSF and ADB’s safeguard compliance. The report has been prepared as per the documents/information received from the Concessionaire and on the basis of site visit observations. 2. SUB-PROJECT TITLE 2. The sub-project includes - Four laning of existing road from Dewas Bypass (km 0.000) to intersection of NH-3 and Dewas bypass (km 7.000) and six laning of part of bypass from NH-3 and bypass intersection (km 7.000) until the intersection of the bypass and AB Road (km 19.800) in the State of Madhya Pradesh on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. 3. SUB-PROJECT BACKGROUND 2. Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) in the year 2016, invited detailed bid proposals for widening and upgradation of Dewas Bypass from km 0.00 to km 19.80 on Build, Operate and Transfer (Toll) basis. The project envisages four laning of 7.00 km stretch of Dewas Bypass from Ujjain Dewas Junction (km 0.00) to km 7.00 and six laning of remaining section
