Option 8 ACTIVITIES OFFERED BY OUR ASSOCIATIONS Thanks to you dear volunteers, the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux counts more than 100 active associations offering services and varied leisure activities to the residents . We wish to thank you and recognize the importance of your work and implication towards the various association partners . We also encourage the residents to get involved in volunteering with the associations to maintain the diversity of leisure opportunities in our community . The Sports, Recreation and Culture Team HALL RENTALS The City has three halls to rent for parties, exhibitions or seminars, with access to a kitchen if required . The capacity is 250 in the Banquet Hall, 150 in the Reception Hall, and 100 in the Park View Hall, with ample parking and wheelchair accessibility . The rental does not include tableware, tablecloths or catering services . A minimum of one month notice is required to reserve the halls . The chalets in the parks are reserved for use by our associations only . We also offer access to computers, readers’ suggestions and research help, Wi-Fi and a place to read or study . Furthermore, workshops, conferences and shows for all ages are presented . PUBLIC LIBRARY WEEK In October, we acknowledge Quebec Public Libraries with a breakfast and show for families as well as a variety of activities to celebrate the importance of a library in the community . MARCH BREAK During the School break in March, we propose activities (shows, workshops, movies, etc .) for children 6 to 12 years old every day . Fun guaranteed! LITERARY THURSDAYS In collaboration with the Canada Council of the Arts, we present to the local schools, meet and greet conferences with authors and illustrators . STORY TIME Story Time is offered weekly for children 0 to 5 year olds as well as on Saturdays for 0 to 8 year olds . Story Time is animated by our experienced storytellers allowing children to discover the magic of reading . VOLUNTEER At the library, there are different volunteer opportunities for teens and adults . Our programs such as Homework Helpers, Home Delivery Service, « Générations branchées » and « Lire et faire lire » are possible because of dedicated volunteers . DIGITAL LITERACY We are aiming to provide workshops for all ages and levels in regards to digital literacy . From coding to an introduction to the Internet, the library has it!
