This was the second Worldcon held in Glasgow. Guests of Honour were Greg Pickersgill, Christopher Priest, Robert Sheckley, Lars-Olov Strandberg, and Jane Yolen, with Special Guest Alan Lee and Professor David Southwood. Mr. Sheckley was unable to attend due to illness. The adult at the door membership was £120/$225, though of course most memberships were sold long before the convention at various lower rates. Worldcon is run each year by a separate committee. Selection of that committee and voting for the Hugo Awards are governed by the constitution of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS). Members of a given yearÕs Worldcon also comprise the membership of WSFS during that year. This issue of the Shuttle contains two first-hand reports on the convention Ñ from Sam Smith and Grant Kruger. Of chat.
