Kumamoto Prefecture Hotakubo Daiichi Public Housing Complex

Kumamoto Prefecture Hotakubo Daiichi Public Housing Complex Architectural Outline For an architect designing a public housing project, the problem is how to create a rich residential environment on a limited budget and with a limited floor area. In conventional projects, apartment blocks are arranged to face south in orderly rows at regular intervals. Here, however, all housing units are arranged around a central open space, which is intended to be a place of communication for members of all 110 households. In addition, each unit has a courtyard or a large terrace, allowing occupants easy access to an outdoor area. As a result, these units are unusually large for public housing Architectural Data Kumamoto Prefecture Hotakubo Daiichi Public Name Housing Location 1-28 Obiyama, Kumamoto City Main function housing Developer Kumamoto Prefecture Architects Riken Yamamoto & Field Shop Co., Ltd.
