From its first year with 11 kindergarten students in Lakeside Church to its recognition as a 2014 National Amanda Etheridge Blue Ribbon School, LOA has continued its commitment to excellence in education for Greene Academic Counselor County students. LOA offers a wide variety of programs, courses, and experiences that address the academic, Cheryl Lenenski interpersonal, physical, and social needs of students. Included offerings are Advanced Placement College & Career Counselor (AP®) and accelerated courses, dual enrollment opportunities with local universities; and an International Spanish Academy (ISA). ISA incorporates Spanish language immersion in grades K-12, and qualified students earn a diploma from the Ministry of Education of Spain. All students at LOA can qualify for the Georgia Superintendent’s International Skills Diploma Seal and/or the Bi-literacy Seal. In the 2019-2020 school year, LOA is the educational home of approximately 1140 students in grades Pre-K4 through 12. The Class of 2018 marked LOA’s first graduating class.
