WHITAKER, Maria Louise, died September 6, 2010 at her home in Tri- adelphia. She was born December 1 3, 1 962 in.Wheeling, W.Va. A memorial service will be held at St. Matthews Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Septem­ ber 11. The family will greet friends at the Fort Henry club immediately follow­ ing. Maria is survived by her Mother, Anita Malmstrom Whitaker of Triadelphia, brother and sister-in-law, John Whitaker and Linda Fisk Whitaker and nephew, David Fisk Whitaker of California, extended fami­ ly, much-loved friends from across the United States and in Finland, and her beloved dog, Laney. Her father, George Parks Whitaker, preceded her in death in 2002. After graduating Wheel­ ing Park High school, Maria attended the College of Wooster where she earned an AB in English and Drama. While still in high school, she obtained national standing in foren­ sic competitions and deliv­ ered a stellar performance as Rose in the Park High production of Gypsy. This lead to years of summer stock and strong reviews as she gave expression to her great sense of humor and creativity. Upon graduation, she relocated to California, working first in advertising and later finding her stride managing the extensive Gynecological Oncology services at the Cedar Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles and ' working closely with world-renowned surgeons, Ronald Leuchter, MD and Leo Legasse, MD. Maria earned a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica where she subsequently provided many years of service as a graduate assistant. Returning to Wheeling in 2003, Maria became active in recovery work with women in the North­ ern Regional Jail in Moundsville and volun­ teered with the Catholic Neighborhood Center, pro­ viding loving service to the elderly through their Meals on Wheels program. Alan White I WHITE, Alan Corbett, 65, of Bethesda-Belmont Road, Bethesda, died Thursday, May 2, 1996, in Bar­ nes ville Hospital. He was a retired mechanic for L.E. Meyers. Hebron, and a member of Belmont Ridge Christian Church, Beallsville. He was preceded in death by his parents. A. Corbett and Eva Williamson White: a sister. Rowena Bennett: a granddaughter. Surviving are his wife, Karen White: three sons. David Menges of New Philadelphia, Ron Menges of Bamesville and Michael Menges of Bethesda: three daugh­ ters, Mrs. John (Carol) Decker of Bethesda. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her hus­ band, James A. White, in 1977. Surviving are four sons, Paul of Carmichael, Calif., Walter of Anchorage, Ala., J. Edgar and Russell H., both of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Anne Clipp of Clearwater, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and nine great­ grandchildren. Services were held Jan. 29 at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, with the Rev. Gordon Farmer officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville. Amelia White Amelia (Sarzier) White, 93, of I Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Tiltonsville, died March 24, 2004 at the Hospitality Homes, Xenia, Ohio. She was bom May 7, 1 9 1 0 at Monessen, Pa., a daughter of the late Emil and Berthe (Rey) Sarzier. She was a member of the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church. Mrs. White had recently moved to Dayton from Tiltonsville to be close to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. White and a brother. Edmond Sarzier. Surviving, are a son, Dennis W. White and his wife Margo (Serafini) of Beavercreek, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great­ grandchildren: three nephews: Randy Sarzier of Canton, Tim Sarzier of Charlotteville, N. C. and Roger Wallace of Beallsville, Ohio; a niece, Judy (White) Reese of Cortland, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth White Wallace of Shadyside. Ann was a homemaker; and from 1950-1959, worked as a telephone operator for the C&P Telephone Company. During the late 70’s and early 1980’s, she worked for Dr. Anetakis and Dr. Ard, as a dental assistant. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church Christian Mothers. , Ann enjoyed crocheting, I collecting recipes, and baking cookies for family and friends. For Five years she volunteered her time as a 4-H leader in Weirton. In later years, Ann’s greatest joy was spending time with her two grandchildren. Ann’s survivors include her husband. Norman R. White, Sr., whom she married June 18, 1954; son, Norman R. White, Jr. and his wife. Carla, all of Weirton; daughter, Linda White of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother, Phillip Consalvo and his wife. Betty, of Follansbee; and two grandchildren, Lucia White, who is attending the Air Force Academy and Stephen White of Weirton. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 1-3 p.m. at the Greco- Hcrtnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. He was born June 30, 1909 in Wheat, W.Va., a son of the late Thomas and Sarah Rine White. He was a retired employee of Ohio Power Tidd Plant at Brilliant, and was a member of the Fox Hunting Association. Surviving are his wife, Ada Dolores Dickson White; four daughters, Lois Martino of Wellsburg, W.Va., Dolores Harvey of Detroit, Mich., Carole Roland of Chesapeake, Va., and Ethel Kerwood of Brilliant; four sons, Ronald White of Brilliant, Conrad White of Piney Fork, Terry White of Akron, and Joseph White of Wintersville; two sisters, Goldie Kearney of Amhearst, and Violet Young of Short Creek, W.Va.; 21 grand- children, 10 great­ grandchildren, He was preceded in death by a sister, Esta Anderson, in 1984, and a daughter Janet Matthews, in 1984.
