Stacey Bechdolt Stacey Bechdolt, an experienced aviation attorney with expertise in aviation operations, safety and regulations, serves as a member of Civil Air Patrol’s Board of Governors (BoG). As CAP’s top governing body, the 11-member BoG consists of four U.S. Air Force appointees, three members appointed jointly by the Secretary of the Air Force and CAP’s national commander, and four members-at-large selected by CAP’s Senior Advisory Group. The BoG moves CAP forward through collective decision-making to generate strategic policies, plans, and programs designed to guide it both today and tomorrow. It is assisted by CAP’s National Commander and Chief Executive Officer, the organization’s Chief Operating Officer and the CAP-U.S. Air Force Commander, who act as advisers. Ms. Bechdolt joined the BoG in June 2016. As the Vice President of Safety & Operations and Regulatory Counsel for the Regional Airline Association in Washington, D.C, she brings over 15 years of experience in aviation operations, safety, and regulations to her role as advocate for the regional airline industry. Her work focuses on operational safety management and the impact of regulations on flight and technical operations. A member of several government-industry collaborative groups, including a number of Aviation Rulemaking Committees, she represents member airlines to industry groups and administrative agencies. She advances the Regional Airline Association’s pilot workforce efforts advocating for the success of future aviator careers through her work with industry-educator and industry-military collaborative forums. She joined the Regional Airline Association in 2012 from Comair, where she was responsible for regulatory compliance with respect to training programs and implementing a variety of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety initiatives. Ms. Bechdolt is an active Board of Trustees member of the Aviation Accreditation Board International, working with aviation universities and community on issues impacting the next generation of aviators. As an aviation attorney she has advised airlines and other operators on all aspects of aviation regulatory law, technical matters, operational issues, and safety. She is also a private pilot, elementary school guest speaker on aviation, and recipient of several National Transportation & Safety Board (NTSB) certificates in areas such as investigations, fatigue, and aircraft accident survival factors. She is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law and holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of the Pacific. She is licensed to practice in Florida and the District of Columbia, and is a member of several associations in the aviation community. Current as of 15 March 2018. CAP National Headquarters 105 S.
