Educational household is YOUR household; it is your own personal museum, classroom, amusement park and restaurant. It is YOUR household which opens its doors to curious elementary school pupils; it is household which earns more. Educational household is dealing with food production and the food mysterious ways, that lead to an embroidered tablecloths and plates with flowers. You have a secret of spices and delicious combination of meat and cabbage, cream and fruit, vegetables and toppings. Meet the masters of steak, pork greaves and strudel with poppy seeds. Feel the walking through the vineyard with the rustling of leaves in the morning air, or rest in the shade to smell almost prepared lunch. Would you like to share a secret? ... Would you like to share a secret with children, and to provide additional income to yourself and your family? Children learn in school about the nature, farm animals and their products. Banat Educational Households Page 4 of 20 Italian example Educational household Ferdy In the heart of Lombardy, near the town of Bergamo, a green oasis surrounded by Alpine mountains, is situated. There, in the Brembana Valley, an educational household Ferdy is located. On the Ferdinand estate, you can often hear laughter of children who are his favorite guests. Pupils can reveal here many details about the animals’ habits, their nutrition and accommodation. They can see how cows are being milked, how is sheep being shorn, how is honey being collected, how to make cheese and cream. They learn to recognize the useful and medicinal plants and methods of their collection. They can become familiar with the complex social life of bees. The owner, Ferdinando Quarteroni, offers room and board, with the possibility to have a complete meal, made entirely of household products. Within this household there are sites that are specially equipped for picnics, where school groups come usually. The household Ferdy is specialized in growing of cows and goats, and in the production of cheese and fresh cheese. However, horses, donkeys, sheep, pigs, ducks, geese and turkeys, can be seen in the pastures, as well as a number of bee hives. Italian educational households aim to educate, to promote a culture of healthy dietary, not only among children but also among their parents. Today, households in Italy have already developed a lot of experience as well as overall program activities. They have a special educational program for schools and special program for families, with the aim to provide for their visitors filled day of entertainment, sports and, of course, learning by doing. Among the many regions, the most famous educational households are located in Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Lombardy. Today, in Italy there are over 1000 educational households that want to share their experiences selflessly with curious visitors of all ages. This wine-tourist complex offers a new kind of tourism, wine tourism and hospitality industry. On the farm you will meet your kind host Dejan Stanković with his family. Dejan Stanković is engaged for many years in the development of its holding with tourism purposes, so today there are many activities that can be offered to visitors - visit to the winery and wine degustation, recreation and sports fishing, as well as pleasure in the beautiful nature and the local cuisine. This household is a particular holding, as it produces wines from its own vineyard of 18 hectares area. One part of this household makes a lake with several types of fish, primarily intended for recreational fishing. Tourism and recreational facilities around lake, such as restaurant, barbecue, pony club, bike trails, and beaches for swimming only enrich overall content of this complex. Household can receive a one-day school trips and excursions. It has facilities for the reception and education of visitors. All visitors can have a lunch here, made of traditional local products. Walk is accompanied by a story about grapes, their cultivation and high-quality wine production. 2. Tasting of the best wines This visit is a unique opportunity for visitors to taste the excellent wine, produced by the French technology. During the open air workshop, process of wine production will be presented. Then the story of the importance of wine, from a medical point of view, follows. 3. Walk around the lake Visitors will have an opportunity to visit an environmentally clean lake that has been stocked with several species of fish. A walk around the lake will be accompanied by story about the importance of ecology for life, as well as by story about the importance of recreational activities in daily life. The place is known for its multiculturalism, since there live many Slovaks. Educational household Janošičanka has been producing sour cherries and cherry products for many years. They have a large orchard, where different varieties of sour cherries grow. Sour cherries are used for the production of juices, syrups and „slatko“, as well as for making of various traditional cakes. This household receives one-day school excursions and visits.
