Position Description Webmaster & Database Administrator Reports to: Executive Director of Information Resources Management The Webmaster & Database Administrator is responsible for implementing and performing day-to-day maintenance of the College Web sites. The Webmaster is responsible for continually updating and improving the Web site from a technical perspective and for the security of the Web site. The Webmaster is also responsible for monitoring the web server and site technical performance, as well as further developing search engine optimization strategies. In addition, as a database administrator, the Webmaster is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the institutional database Web portals and assisting in the administration of the institutional database. Position Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Webmaster . Experienced webmaster and web developer . Demonstrated experience in the design of dynamic web sites and web- based applications . Ability to administer multiple content management systems . Advanced level of knowledge of Unix operating systems, ASP, .NET, PHP, CSS, XHL, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, Flash, Gif Animation, and Adobe Creative Suite, Google Apps . Understanding of and experience with implementing security systems . Assist in implementation and maintenance of Web portals . Troubleshoot problems of Web registration . Develop web page infrastructure and applications related to pages with more advanced graphics and features . Monitor web server and site technical performance . Continue development of search engine optimization strategies . Other duties as assigned Database Administrator . Experienced with Database development and administration . Knowledge and experience with MS Access, MySQL, SQL 2005, SQL server . Mature user of Database Management procedures . Certified user of Microsoft Operating Systems and Software . Database Application Support (Jenzabar EX V2R9) . System’s support as an alternate administration . Installations / Installation updates . Produce reports, statistics, pipelines, forms . Upgrade SQL Server, Web Server with new releases . Other duties as assigned .
