ARCHBISHOP ROWAN, in his Christmas Day sermon in Canterbury Cathedral, challenged churches to become involved in voluntary action, advocacy and giving, and to press government and financial institutions towards justice. He warned that some developed nations seemed "deeply indifferent" to poverty. They found it easier to give way to the "pervasive" fear for security. But guaranteeing each other's justice and liberty could provide better security. COFFEE will be served in the vestry after the Eucharist this morning, and the draw for the 100 Club will take place.
