Ruby is the 140th Wing Inspector General, Buckley AFB Colorado. The 140th Wing is a Colorado Air National Guard Wing on Buckley AFB, Denver CO. The Air National Guard across the Air Force provides over 35% of the AF capabilities while providing State Domestic Operational Support. The 140th Wing Guardsmen were activated to support the Southeast Colorado Blizzard in 2006, Hurricanes Katrina/Rita/Dean between 2005 and 2007, Colorado Wildfires in 2012, 2013, and 2014, the Colorado Floods of 2013, and in April 2014 our Fatality Search and Recovery and Religious Support team were activated to support during the Oso, Washington Landslide. Every 15-month cycle, the Air National Guard accepts close to 25% of the Air Force Expeditionary Deployment taskings. The 140th Wing, specifically, with their F- 16’s, provides the US Air 24/7 Security with its Alert Flying Mission, keeping the US skies safe. The 140th Wing also has a ground 24/7 Alert unit/mission who deploys on short notice to survive and operate through all phases of trans/post attacks. It provides survivable and endurable missile warning, space launch, and nuclear detection to the survivable Nation Command Authorities. It is the first and largest Air National Guard unit with a Space Mission.
