Skill Development Summer Workshops under the Project Sashakt of Triadic Development Programme of the college were organized by Departments of Commerce, Computer Science, English, Fine Arts, Home Science and Music (Vocal). National Workshop on Research Methodology from 29-05-2017 to 04-06-2017. 2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC Preparation of Academic Calendar of the college. Outline standard quality benchmarks for enhancement of academic quality. Facilitate the upgradation of teaching and research proficiency of the faculty. Co-ordinate the organization of various academic, sports and other extra curricular activities for all round development of the students. Initiate community oriented services and programmes as part of Instituition Social Responsibility. Organization of summer workshops to enhance the skill set of the students and hence improve their employability quotient Materialize memoranda of understanding between the college and the industry to boost college-industry interaction. Collection and analysis of feedback from the various stakeholders on quality related processes. Documentation of various college activities for quality enhancement. Preparation of AQARs and SSR as per the guidelines and parameters set by NAAC. 2.15 Plan of Action by IQAC/Outcome The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality enhancement and the outcomes achieved by the end of the year * KHALSA COLLEGE FOR WOMEN AQAR 2016-17 5 Plan of Action Achievements To enhance ICT based The ICT based facilities were further enhanced with addition of facilities for effective four new smart classrooms. teaching and learning Upgradation of Labs Various labs were upgraded with purchase of new equipment. Three computers with latest configuration and state of art technology were acquired by the Department of Computer Science. Two LCD projectors were installed in the computer labs. Renovation of Departments Renovation work was carried out in the hostels and some of the and Hostels departments of the college. To augment sports facilities With an aim to encourage the students to participate in Sports, inorder to encourage following initiatives were undertaken: increased participation The Annual Budget allocation of the Department of Physical Education was raised. Budget allocation for providing free nutritious diet to the Sports students was further enhanced. Free boarding and lodging facility for the Sports students in the college hostels was further extended to 55 girls. Thirteen college players, recommended by the college, were honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 3, 07,950/- by PUSC, Chandigarh. With improved facilities, the number of teams to represent the college in various Inter-College competitions was extended to 22 different sports. To facilitate up-gradation of An Orientation Programme for the new faculty was organized. knowledge and research A National Level Faculty Development Programme on skills of the faculty ―Techniques of Writing research Paper: Application of Statistical Tecniques‖ was organized. A Network Resource Centre with 19 computers and internet facility was established to provide computing and browsing facilities. N-List facility with access to e-journals and e-books was provided in the Centre. The number of research publications as well as participation of the college faculty in seminars and conferences increased considerably as compared to the previous years. To enhance the skill set of Skill development summer workshops were organized under the the students Project Sashakt by the Departments of Fine Arts, Home Science, English, Music (Vocal), Computer Science and Commerce. To upgrade the skills and Workshops on ―English Speaking‖ and ―Typing‖ were organized enhance the competencies of for the non-teaching staff with an objective to improve their work the non teaching staff proficiency. To apply for research grants Two minor research projects worth Rs. 1, 65, 000/- and to the UGC Rs. 2, 05, 000/- were sanctioned by the UGC to Dr Priyaka Khanna and Mrs Paramjeet Kaur of Department of Commerce KHALSA COLLEGE FOR WOMEN AQAR 2016-17 6 Increase community service Under the Triadic Development Programme, which was initiated participation amongst the for the holistic development of the students through being students Enlightened, Empowered and Empathic, ―KCW Synapse‖, the college community club organized various activities with an objective of ―giving back to the society‖ and sensitizing the students towards their social responsibility. Various community services were also undertaken by th college NSS, NCC, Red Cross clubs and various departments. Promote environmental Under the ―Green Initiative Programme‖, of the college, the Eco awareness Club, Traffic Club, Gardening Club and the Botanical Society organized various activities to create awareness about the need to protect the environment and promote love for the surrounding biodiversity. Effective measures were undertaken for waste segregation, waste management, water harvesting and E-waste collection. To streamline the Feedback The Feedback System was streamlined and a Students Feedback System Analysis Report was prepared.
