The concept and choreography were created by Fagan, and the original music was composed and arranged by Marsalis. It premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music to a packed house in September, and WXXI was granted exclusive behind- the-scenes access to document the project, which included rehearsals, creative planning sessions, and the opening night. This special documents the creative process and the final product, and includes interviews with Lighthouse/Lightning Rod industry leaders, media critics, art historians, and others who will share the significance of this collaboration and the work of these two artists. During the broadcast, WXXI will also share details about the Rochester debut of this collaboration at Nazareth Arts Center and how you can get tickets.
