September 3, 2020 Call for nomination for First Vice-Chancellor, Alipurduar University, West Bengal The Alipurduar University is a new State University in Alipurduar District, West Bengal established on the basis of the Alipurduar University Act, 2018 (West Bengal Act XVII of 2018) (vide Gazette Notification dated 1st October, 2018) passed in the West Bengal State Legislative Assembly. The duly constituted Search Committee for recommending a panel of suitable candidates for appointment of the First Vice-Chancellor of Alipurduar University [vide Notification No. 1082- Edn(U)APDU-01/18 dated 07.12.2018] is seeking nominations, with the intent to widen the search process, from eminent academics of repute for consideration for the said position. Eminent academics with proven track record and a commitment to nurturing and promoting excellence in teaching and research in this new University, with proven competence and integrity and having a minimum of ten years of experience in a University system, of which at least five years shall be as a Professor, or ten years of experience in a reputed research or academic- administrative organization, of which at least five years shall be in an equivalent position of Professor can be nominated. Present and former Vice-Chancellors, Head of academic and research institutions and eminent scholars are invited to nominate. The nominations may be sent by e-mail only to [email protected] with a subject line: “Nomination for the Position of First Vice-Chancellor of Alipurduar University” addressed to the Chairman, Search Committee on or before September 18, 2020 by 4.00 p.m. along with the nominees’ detailed curriculum vitae (with mention of date of birth, detailed academic and administrative experiences, including dates of joining in different posts, in particular the date of joining the post of Professor, or any equivalent post). The Search Committee reserves the right to consider persons of eminence outside the list of such nominations. In accordance with the procedure evolved by the Committee, nominees would be shortlisted based on agreed parameters. No self-nomination will be accepted.
