In former times, Ordi- 9:00 am Extraordinary Form (Latin) nations were held during Ember Days, and so the penance of all the HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION Faithful from the Pope down to the children, also asked for God's 6:00pm Novus Ordo (English) blessing on the clergy to be ordained. The color for Ember Days, as CONFESSIONS in Advent and Lent is Violet. This week in the Calendar of the Ex- Saturdays 10:00am-11am traordinary Form Latin Mass, the Autumn Ember Days occur. Per- before Mass and by appointment haps, given the need for the cleansing of the Church and of the high- er clergy, we might voluntarily observe the Ember Days this week Directory with extra prayer and penance.
