It has was only following the Second World War that the club began to make it’s mark with the first notable achievement in the clubs history coming in the 1950’s. Their dominance at step 13 of the football pyramid saw them named Witney and District Premier Division Champions in 7 seasons during the decade. The Millers were made to wait until the 80’s until they’d get a chance to lift the title but once again they showed their quality being crowned Premier Division champions in 1985 and then for five successive sea- sons between 1985 and 1990 where they earned a place in the Hellenic Leagues. Success continued to follow North Leigh with back to back 4th placed finishes in their first two seasons in the Hellenic League Division One before gowing on to finish 2nd the following year and earn promotion to the Premier Division as runners up to Tuffley Rovers. It took a couple of years for the team to adjust to the step up in competition but the Millers were managing to consistently finish in the top half over their 15 year stint in the Hellenic League Premier Division. They were crowned champions in 2002 and 2003 but stadium and pitch requirements held the team back from promotion. Years of league dominance from Almondsbury were finally ended during the clubs centenery year in 2008 where the title race went down to the final day of the season in which the Millers would be crowned cham- pions for a 3rd and final time on goal difference before being accepted into Southern League after finally meeting league requirements and their non-league journey began. Eleven years of Southern League football have certainly had their ups and downs for the club with financial requirements becoming a much larger factor in the continuation of the club. Remarkebly the side managed top half finishes in all of the first nine seasons and winning the Oxfordshire Snior Cup for a 2nd and 3rd time and cementing their status and the largest club in West Oxfordshire. This included three 6th placed finishes in 2011, 2012 and 2017 narrowly missing out on the playoff spots by under 4 points on each occasion. The 2016/17 season under Manager John Brough was arguably the most successful season in the clubs history with a rcord 6th placed finish in the Southern League Division One South & West, missing out on a playoff spot by just five points. The year also saw the Millers lift the Oxfordshire Senior Cup for a 3rd time beating both Oxford City and Oxford United along the way. Record performances were also set in the FA Cup where they reached the 4th Qualifying Round losing out to Eastleigh and the 1st Round Proper in the FA Trophy. North Leigh Football Club is a members-owned football club that is run by the Club Committee through its annually elected Club Officers constituting the Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. 6 WWW.NORTHLEIGHFC.CO.UK Season Fixtures & Results 2019 F - A POS ATT MATCH SPONSOR JUL 16 H Oxford United U18’s Pre-season Friendly L 1 - 2 N/a 201 20 A Milton United Pre-season Friendly W 11 - 1 N/a - 27 H Dunstable Town Pre-season Friendly W 3 - 1 N/a 81 30 A Easington Sports Pre-season Friendly W 4 - 1 N/a - AUG 10 A Cinderford Town Pre-season Friendly W 2 - 0 N/a - 17 H Berkhamsted League L 1 - 2 14th 154 20 A Thame United League D 2 - 2 13th 156 24 A Aylesbury Vale Dynamos FA Cup P W 5 - 4 N/a 113 26 H Wantage Town League W 2 - 1 11th 186 31 A St Neots Town League W 5 - 1 6th 172 SEP 3 H Halesowen Town League L 1 - 2 9th 173 Bakers Butchers 7 A Willand Rovers FA Cup 1Q W 2 - 1 N/a 119 14 H Bedford Town League L 0 - 2 13th 94 21 A Oxford City FA Cup 2Q L 0 - 7 N/a 334 28 A Basingstoke Town FA Trophy P L 3 - 4 N/a 81 OCT 5 A Kempston Rovers League W 4 - 2 11th 110 8 H Banbury United SFL Cup 1R L 3 - 4 N/a 92 14 A Coleshill Town League W 2 - 1 9th 65 19 H Corby Town League Findley Construction 26 H Yaxley League NOV 2 A Aylesbury United League 9 A AFC Dunstable League 16 H Welwyn Garden City League 23 A Biggleswade League 30 H Barton Rovers League Mark Lambourne DEC 7 A Kidlington League 14 H Bedworth United League 21 A Daventry Town League 26 H Didcot Town League 2020 JAN 1 A Wantage Town League 4 H Thame United League Horspath Cricket Club 11 A Berkhamsted League 18 H Coleshill Town League 25 A Bedford Town League FEB 1 A Yaxley League 8 H Kempston Rovers League 15 A Corby Town League 22 H Aylesbury United League 29 H AFC Dunstable League MAR 7 A Welwyn Garden City League 14 H Biggleswade League 21 A Barton Rovers League 28 H St Neots Town League Malcolm Bennett Builders APR 4 A Halesowen Town League 11 H Daventry Town League B & E Transport 13 A Didcot Town League 18 A Bedworth United League 25 H Kidlington League Findley Construction & Masons Arms 8 WWW.NORTHLEIGHFC.CO.UK The Season in Numbers 2019/20 Stats 2018/19 Stats Played: 13 Played: 44 Won: 6 Drawn: 1 Lost: 6 Won: 10 Drawn: 8 Lost: 26 Win Rate: 46.2% Win Rate: 22.7% GF: 30 per game: 2.31 GF: 76 per game: 1.73 GA: 33 per game: 2.54 GA: 125 per game: 2.84 Total Attendance: 780 Total Attendance: 2,358 Average Att: 130 Average Att: 103 Highest Att: 186 vs Wantage Highest Att: 186 vs Didcot Town 2019/20 Golden Boot All-time Highest Attendances League FAC FAT SFL Total Date Competition Opponent F - A ATT 1 Sat 16 Oct 04 FA Cup 3Q Newport County D 0 - 0 426 1 George Seacole 4 1 0 1 6 2 Tue 6 Dec 16 League Hereford D 3 - 3 364 = Tyriq Hunte 2 3 0 1 6 3 Sat 27 Dec 08 League Didcot Town L 0 - 3 254 3 Morgan Williams 4 0 0 0 4 4 Sat 26 Nov 16 FA Trophy Kingstonian W 1 - 0 203 4 Josh Dutton-Black 3 0 0 0 3 5 Sat 1 Oct 16 FA Cup Folkestone Invicta W 3 - 1 202 = Ekow
