FreeNAS - Bug #2076 amdtemp kernel module not functional for C60-class Fusion core 03/08/2013 03:47 AM - Willie Anderson Status: Closed: Third party to resolve Priority: Nice to have Assignee: Xin Li Category: Target version: 9.3-BETA Seen in: 8.3.1-RELEASE Needs Merging: Yes Severity: New Needs Automation: No Reason for Closing: Support Suite Ticket: n/a Reason for Blocked: Hardware Configuration: Needs QA: Yes ChangeLog No Required: Needs Doc: Yes Description According to kldstat, the kernel module "amdtemp.ko" is preloaded in the kernel, and indeed, "kldload -v ./amdtemp.ko" claims that the file exists. However, for an AMD C60 processor, such as is found in the ASUS C60M1-I, the amdtemp module does not appear in the output from "sysctl -a". Then again it looks like updates are on an as-needed basis and only for certain CPU classes, so no guarantee that your specific CPU will be supported even if the driver is updated. #7 - 02/20/2014 08:25 PM - Jordan Hubbard - Category set to 18 - Assignee set to Xin Li - Target version changed from 9.2.1-RELEASE to 72 #8 - 06/06/2014 06:56 PM - Jordan Hubbard - Target version changed from 72 to 9.3-BETA #9 - 10/12/2014 01:32 PM - Jordan Hubbard - Status changed from Screened to Closed: Third party to resolve - Seen in set to 8.3.1-RELEASE #10 - 02/14/2015 07:59 AM - Joe Schmuck Isn't the amdtemp.ko module already compiled into the kernel for FreeNAS? I say this because both coretemp.ko and amdtemp.ko are not listed in the /boot/kernel directory yet it appears they are both loaded as indicated by sysctl -a "amdtemp" and "coretemp". And a better question, can you have both modules loaded at the same time and they work? I don't know that answer yet. Of course these comment may have nothing to do with this bug report. #11 - 02/28/2018 09:56 AM - Dru Lavigne - File deleted (amdtemp.ko.gz) 09/24/2021 2/2 Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org).
