Departure of Chetna Special to promote Swachhata Campaign between SDAH and RHA. 9. Inauguration of Composting Plant to convert biodegradable waste into Beginning the celebration with paying tribute to Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary. Welcome Address by Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway, Sealdah. Swachhata Pledge, headed by DRM, Sealdah and all Officers, staff of Eastern Railway, Sealdah along with passengers of Sealdah Railway Station. Cultural Program to highlight the importance of boycotting Single Use Plastic and promote alter native materials such as cloth bags. A special Nukkad Natak was performed by members of Scouts and Guides group. Presentation of Songs and Dance were also a part of the cultural performances. Interaction with various NGOs including Sant Nirankari Seva Sanghatan and St. John’s Ambulance Service followed by distribution of Cloth bags to vendors of Sealdah Railway Station. The program at Swachhata Square of Sealdah Railway station concluded with felicitating the staff of Eastern Railway, Sealdah division for their exemplary service towards the mission of Swachhata Hi Seva. Chetna Special was departed to from Sealdah Railway station to promote the campaign of Swachhata Hi Seva upto Ranaghat. It was manned by staff of Commercial, S&T, Personnel, TI & LI department, along with members of Scouts and Guides. A Composting Plant was inaugurated at Sealdah by Divisional Railway Manger, Sealdah, Eastern Railway to convert biodegradable waste into compost.
